Managed to weigh myself first time at gym for 5 months. Bang on what it was before lockdown at 80kg?, although shape has improved with home gym.

Which is shocking with my diet! (sweet tooth). Perhaps no fast food or takeaways is why?‍♂️
I track and weight everything I eat and it was a bit easier to cut in lockdown than it would be to bulk when I don't have as heavy weights as the gym does. As i was cycling around 125km a week I managed to cut to ridiculous levels this year, came in about 3/4 kg lighter than 2019 and pretty much only had skin to pull at, lockdown was good in that way for me but I wouldn't want it over the winter months ?

I ran for the first 4 months and coincided it with a healthier diet. Can honestly say I didn't lose much at all. In the end, i thought what's the point? Stopped running and restarted eating things i enjoy, and I've only put on back on what I initially lost which is a few lbs

Ime, calorie/macro tracking, combined with regular exercise guarantees weight loss. How drastic, depends on the reduction in calories from your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE).

If you burn more calories per day than you consume, you can’t not lose weight.

different people/different metabolisms ! I was going on 18stone when i was about 18-19. Started running and eating a little healthier and got down to 11stone...ten years on im still having to run a lot because i’d pile it back on if not. Still manage to stay between 11-12 stone and eat rubbish most the time?

Me and the boys at work were chatting whilst having lunch today, 5 of us in total.

We know hardly anyone personally who has had the virus and no1 who has been admitted to hospital. We have however lost 4 friends between us in the covid period to suicide!

God knows what to make of it all! I just know it’s going to be one hell of a long winter!!!

Oh and to add to that 1 of the lads revealed his arms and admitted he took to slicking them to bits during the 3.5 months we had off work!
Obviously I will be keeping a very close eye on him and advised him to seek help! He said some days he thought there was no point anymore!
Very alarming and it totally shocked me when I’d had 5 minutes to process what we had all had to say.

for the fans of the swedish model, I just read they are contemplating restrictions for stockholm. nothing decided yet, but their numbers are also growing and it seems this time they might act a little differently.

Yeah, I think although I improved nutritionally, I probably consumed more calories overall to compensate. But it was still a kicker doing 5k 4 or 5 times a week and not really seeing results.

Anyway for lockdown mk 2.0 I'm gonna do the Joe Wicks thingy and see if that works better for me

Yeah we're the same 2 suicides, one was a school mate and a bit of a character around where I grew up and my folks still live. He jumped off a bridge at 4pm really busy traffic and a well known fella.. he had his arm in a cast only broke it a few days before.. and 3 young girl addicts my Mrs does some volunteering with died in as many weeks all under 30..?

The saddest thing about this was he was a career for both parents for the last year or so,father had dementia and mother was just old they were both to go into care in November.. since the pandemic his older brother moved back home and was a alcoholic, kinda fella you would cross the road if you saw him coming. He was giving D a hard time since he moved back he just had enough and jump off the bridge.. so many people withness it and even the Garda were passing at the time but wouldn't leave anyone into the water because of the strong current..☹

I do love how some of the politicians on tv keep saying we should just let people use their common sense instead of all these rules.

They do realise we have warnings on bleach saying "don't drink" right?

(Maybe remove all the warnings, wait a year as nature sorts out who has common sense?)

I’ve always found macro counting (carbs, protein and fat) much easier than anything else. Hit your goals for those and you hit your calorie target.

Without counting those or calories, it’s very easy to over eat, regardless of whether you think you’re eating healthy foods of not.
