Pula mate, we staying in verudela short hop out the town and no distancing tbh as far as we can see everyone just loving life as per usual although they have the standard hand wash points and so on the night time brings little restrictions

arrived in Cavtat last night, few miles outside Dubrovnik, abramovich is anchored here in his yacht, everything feels completely normal. Masks in shops and uhere but we can deal with that.
Bars all closing at 12 is a bit of a melt to be honest, just means being out a bit earlier.

Im actually meant to be in Majorca right now with the missus and the bin lids.

Obviously it all fell through.

Usually when we go on holiday my missus keeps all the documents etc in a little folder. Was having a little tidy up today and found this in their from last summer. My bottom lip started going ?

Fcuking hell, this was a great night ? I’d go back and do it again in a heartbeat.

Has anyone returned to the UK from Europe recently? It appears we have to fill in this form
I'd be struggling to print it off as the hotel doesn't have an internet point and I'm not sure there are the facilities in Es Pujols (ie internet cafe) so would they accept the information downloaded to your phone?

i had a recent trip to germany and filled in this form before arrival in heathrow and not one person on our plane was asked to show proof they had filled out the form (once filled out you get emailed an attachment with a qr code)

I was there too, mate. What a great night indeed. The energy on the terrace, especially after the thunderstorms outside, was insane...

It's actually the night I go back to most of the time in my head when trying to escape all this Covid-Bullsh*t at least mentally (this night along with Dixon & Amê @ Pacha...)

My Mum was asked last week at immigration at Heathrow to show it on her phone from Ibiza. But she said the officer only glanced at it briefly.

There you go, he meant January 2025 so you can work from your villa in Ibiza. No need to even come home to quarantine.

Actually I'm not being that flippant, if it wasn't for Brexit I suppose someone working from home on their pc it doesn't really matter where "home" is, it could be Ipswich or Ibiza. But after Brexit, you would probably not be allowed to do that without working visas, and then there would be tax implications. But before Brexit, who would know if you kept a home in the UK but spent six months in the sun with a pool and laptop and worked from there?
This is exactly what I plan to do! I'm moving to Berlin in November for three months (from near Frankfurt) and then next year I plan to be a digital nomad for at least a year. A lot depends on whether and what sort of residency I'm offered in Germany. There's even talk of an EU-wide permanent visa for those of us that have been living here for over 5 years, which would be great, if true.

Further afield, Barbados and other places are trying to tempt people over who can work from home and fancy a change of scenery.... ?

At the minute what I cannot understand is how the UK figure of infections per 100k is so much lower than other places. We've all seen the pictures of people on beaches and from my limited experience of going to pubs and restaurants since restrictions eased there are nowhere near as compliant and well managed as in Spain. I luckily managed a week on costa del sol at beginning of July and the difference between there and UK was huge in terms of managing the risk through sanitiser, masks etc.
And yet uk still say we have a far lower infection rate. Is it because we are testing a lot more and therefore when cases are relatively low you will get a lot of negative results? I know there will be some relative reduction due to the low numbers in the non England parts but even so, just seems like there's a rabbit off to me.

Firstly outdoors is pretty much as safe as it can be, there's not one increase in cases in an area linked to outside transmission from what i recall, most are linked to family homes or factories etc where they have poor working conditions and often are told they will not be paid if they don't go to work.

Also infections per 100k people would be higher if it was just us testing more people as we would be finding more asymptomatic cases. Italy is the most interesting one here for me, they seem to have been allowing a lot of things like packed out clubs and they have a low rate still. You could argue that countries are testing less so they don't really find out the true amount they have and figures seem low (Some countries are doing this). However it would obviously be doubtful Italy would do this when they had it badly to start with.

There's a possibility that because of our slow response, a lot of us had it early but were either unsymptomatic so never knew, got better at home or hospital or sadly died. So maybe the herd immunity's kicking in?
The whole country needs to be tested for antibiodies and see where we are. But the number of deaths can't be disputed, they are low.

The uk ONS study which is done weekly with random sample of the population has estimated only 6% of the UK population has had covid. Or have antibodies at any rate. (This with the antibody test afaik)

It might be those who are breaking the rules only socialise in the same group so little cross over??‍♂️. However looking at the usa as a guide, the lag between cause and effect seems to be longer now. 4-6 weeks or so. Maybe the incubation period is extending (hence uk changing isolation from 7 to 10 days if show symptoms?).

Guess we will only really know in retrospect.

Side note, russian vaccine only been tested on 48 people apparently! My personal suspicion is it must be one of the western vaccines they nabbed which is in phase 3 trials, thus Russians know its likely to be effective and safe?

YES MATE! Was amazing! I often think back to this night as well.

We'd been at DC10 earlier on and the thunder storm was breaking out on the way over to Amnesia!

What a night! ? ?
