Italian bar next door to the the kebab place on the corner (also opposite the hotel)?Amazingly, we arrived last night and pleasantly surprised at most places in Figueretas being opened. A nice vibe with lots of locals - feels like late April / early May but with August weather!
People working in bars and restaurants very friendly and chilled - not like the frazzled August atmosphere. Offered lots of free shots!
About half of people wearing masks walking about outside but taking them off at the tables.
Is Bar Chaos open? To be fair it's so small if they have distancing they could only fit six in, or five and the dog....Amazingly, we arrived last night and pleasantly surprised at most places in Figueretas being opened. There's another one you have to walk across a plank of wood and there's a little stream coming from the kitchenErm .. surely that has to be Cala Escondida and the bucket of sawdust ? ?
At least the stream's coming from the kitchen, and not into it!There's another one you have to walk across a plank of wood and there's a little stream coming from the kitchen

and our trusting leaders still think travelling to a foreign country with low cases is a risk ?Went down to Brighton yesterday with my 2 year old, absolutely crazy busy. The Pier was an absolute joke, arcades rammed, queues for the funfair, bars full with dirty tables and people smoking. Some token hand sanitisers and a one way system that was vaguely followed but was the first time I have felt uneasy anywhere since the lockdown was relaxed. It's all just a bit messed up...
That is exactly what I was thinking while I battled through the arcade with everyone pressing buttons and putting their 2p's in the machines! I mean, I can get my head around the pier opening, that's fine...you can even manage the funfair to some extent by cleaning after each ride etc...but that arcade was a joke. No need for it to be open at all.....and our trusting leaders still think travelling to a foreign country with low cases is a risk ?
Oh shit, that's where I'm going tomorrow, but as it's midweek shouldn't be crazy. Got some bars lined up that shouldn't be full until late, hopefully the knobheads will keep away from the gay village, and there's always the hotel bar if things are dodgy. Not interested in the pier, arcades or the touristy stuff, might call at the nude beach and certainly take a train ride down the coast to where the more, er, senior tourists go during the day!!Went down to Brighton yesterday with my 2 year old, absolutely crazy busy. Yeah if you avoid the sea front and pier you'll be fine. We went inland a bit and it was pretty quiet.Oh shit, that's where I'm going tomorrow, but as it's midweek shouldn't be crazy. Gawd I'm feeling my age.

We are due out next week and reading what the foreign office spokesman said seems that they don't fancy the idea of various countries trying to negotiate regional variations to FCO advise or quarantine so just sacked the whole thing off ... Whilst I have been firmly on the side of caution for the whole pandemic I felt August might be the best / safest time to get away before a tough autumn / winter at home and feel pretty gutted now ... I really cant see our October trip going ahead now either ?
Yeah we said exactly that....a nice chilled Ibiza sounds appealing after seeing Brighton yesterday.I live in Brighton and feel MUCH safer here in Ibiza than in Brighton last week.
