I agreed with the first lockdown but the fact of the matter is we simply can't keep shutting everywhere down, they seem to be pulling the plug in places I don't think they have right to now.. a rise in cases doesn't mean anything if its just down to more testing ..deaths rising is a different story if its souly because of the virus on a active patient but point proven as how ever many thousand out of pocket over the Spanish islands alone ..how can they gratify this without any actual need the government need to seriously start getting their act together as cant keep playing god with peoples lives we have lost too much time as it is. life is far too short to be cooked up over something that has a huge survival rate. there has always been strains of this and that we have had to deal with..the majority of people wont abide to a second lockdown now and I think they know it

All governments have changed their game from counting deaths and IC submissions and using that to enforce new rules and laws....to now counting cases. While testing more. I feel a lot of rulers have gotten some powers they are clearly not ready to give up yet.
 
So I‘ve been just out on the town here in Germany. Drinks, Beats but all in a seated environment. Just when you want to pull the trigger for second gear, you can‘t! It really sucks. I respect all regulations, so no issues. But once the „no dancing“ rules are lifted, it will be carnage. You can just tell that everyone is itching to have a dance.
just hope that the demonstrations against regulations won’t put us back too far. Why the f*** won’t you wear a mask while shopping when this can save lives and help keep this thing at bay for the time being... I just don’t get it.......

Wearing a mask shopping will do nothing and with people out drinking, talking and smoking outside bars and restaurants why should we have to wear a mask shopping..I don't go shopping to meet people or have a chat I go to get things my Mrs forgot to get.. do you notice that people aren't sanitizing their hands anymore going into shops.. the masks protects everything...lol
 
Just catching up with a few threads, I like using this forum to keep up to date with stuff.

I was travelling through an area with zero WiFi of phone network for about 6 days, so was pretty much cut off from the world (which is quite nice sometimes, being totally logged off from the world)

I literally caught the news about the quarantine on returning from Spain to the UK, just as I went out into the wild last week and I’ve been wondering what has been going on since then ?‍♂️ It threw my mind on a massive wander.

Up to date with the situation now, sort off.

Depressing with a capital D :confused:

Thankfully my team mates have found it very amusing and have been ripping me about potentially missing a holiday and likely ending up sitting in my garden drinking a can of Stella in my boxer shorts.

What a bunch of tw@ts.

I mean fcuking hell lads, excuse me for wanting to squeeze a little bit of joy out if this utterly shit year.

I guess its cause they can't get the young to obey the rules (see loads of social media of mad house parties, those back from ibiza not quarantining etc). So they trying to do something that will protect those that more likely to be seriously ill/die from it?‍♂️

On the face masks and supermarkets etc, get the point compared to pubs. But in pubs supposed to be just one other household and contact details taken. Supermarkets full of randoms you'll never be able to trace. As one supermarket says, every little helps ??

Looking at Australia, think winter is gonna be really seriously bad unless get numbers right down now. (And our winters are cooler which covid loves apparently, see: meat packing plants)

I think this might by the eye of the storm ?

Fair point about the people drinking and chatting in Bars ?
While personally I do believe masks make a big difference, I‘m no scientist and we still don‘t know enough about the virus. Just seems to make a difference once it’s introduced and followed correctly.
Also agree about the point of people getting careless overall and obviously if you don‘t follow other hygiene rules, masks will not make up for that...

Yeah the science evidence will take months or years to come up definitive either way. However there is a lot of imperial/anecdotal evidence, such as 2 countries locking down same time, same measures except one made mask wearing mandatory. That countries numbers of incidences was lower and more stable. (Hungary and someone else, can't remember off hand)

If you think about it, a respiratory disease is gonna be mitigated by things that reduce chance of it getting in the air/or stay in air as long?‍♂️?

But yeah as a species we do like to rebel at been told to do things that are good for us (eat your greens ?)

We also don't do fear for long periods. We just get used to it an blaise, hence why measures are all going to crap. Well until 2nd spike or it affects you directly.

Is interesting europe hospitals saying seeing more under 40s been hospitalized. Also my mate who is 30 and had it 3 months ago still gets out of breath trying to get dressed. Apparently that's not "severe" enough for needing on going medical treatment. Makes you think how many out there suffering consequences like that.
 
Amazingly, we arrived last night and pleasantly surprised at most places in Figueretas being opened. A nice vibe with lots of locals - feels like late April / early May but with August weather!

People working in bars and restaurants very friendly and chilled - not like the frazzled August atmosphere. Offered lots of free shots!

About half of people wearing masks walking about outside but taking them off at the tables.
