You would have thought this could have been considered sooner given the figures coming out of catalonia have been on the rise for a while whilst other areas remain safe. Tui had proposed this idea some time ago but as with many things our government likes to make a decision then have a u turn later.Hope for holidaymakers as government looks at regional travel corridor to Spanish islands

Well they have to get to Spain in the first place so there must be empty legs. Wouldn't be surprised if some jet2 pax were found seats on Iberia, as they won't be bringing many Spanish to the uK (due to quarantine).

Can I use my cat's pet passport?? I can meaow convincingly to anyone, especially at feeding time. And I'm good at covering over my own sh oh I think that's the doorbell.

The amount of petty arguments I've seen today online along the lines of 'support your own country' 'you must be mental to holiday abroad this year' and so on, where in UK has the beauty / the sunsets / alternate nightlife plans / vast amount of eaterys / affordability / stunning beaches / hotel, accommodation by the boat load / good cheap public transport, and great weather all summer ?? Some may well have one or two off that list alone but not them all as a package and these are simply things the holiday sector hasn't got at home .. besides a few places in the south there is nowhere here for the young holiday maker unless you want to fork out a fortune and stay less than a long weekend
A flight from the Northeast to Cornwall is always about 3+ times what a flight to Spain is

This is the thing, same in UK accommodation other than AirB&B anywhere half decent is such a total rip off may as well be looking at Playa d'en Bossa during a typical August. Unless you have a car, or book months ahead, trains and domestic air fares are also exorbitant as @chez says. This is why there's tonnes of illegal wild camping now going on in places like Dartmoor and it's all having a seriously bad impact on the environment.
