You never know for October, don't give up on that just yet... From what we know about this damn virus situation things are always changing so by the time October comes round the spikes could have stablised again and UK may say no more quarantineWe are due out next week and reading what the foreign office spokesman said seems that they don't fancy the idea of various countries trying to negotiate regional variations to FCO advise or quarantine so just sacked the whole thing off ... Whilst I have been firmly on the side of caution for the whole pandemic I felt August might be the best / safest time to get away before a tough autumn / winter at home and feel pretty gutted now ... I really cant see our October trip going ahead now either ?
Sorry man. sucks to hear.
Oh yeah, would have been great to get there this year, but now I ca get the full island experience next year!Just gets my foot in the door for next year. I can wait, this would have been trip #7 for me... I feel worse for you and a few others from the US that were planing trip #1 or #2.
Also, gives me some room this year to do something foolish closer to home..... (rubs hands)
Yes feel sorry folks traveling from Australia, USA , Canada. Most here in Europe can get there rtn for less than €100.. I know a guy went for 2 days told his Mrs he was working all weekend..Oh yeah, would have been great to get there this year, but now I ca get the full island experience next year!
Sounds like you're up to no good on your next trip, love it
more than a bit jealous....Most here in Europe can get there rtn for less than €100

Looks like Plan B will have to be initiated.
Plan B - checklist
1. Drink half a bottle of Vodka
2. Use a flight simulator and fly to Ibiza
3. Use Google street view and stagger to the hotel and beaches
4. Turn on the electric heater full blast and strip off
5. Loop the sound of cicadas (bugs that sound like crickets)
6. Stagger to the nightclubs and play Trance music
7. Dance like there's no tomorrow
8. Drink the rest of the bottle and try to fly back home
9. Wake up in police custody wearing only a thong
10. Return to the public library and apologise to the staff for using their internet service for improper purposes.
Don't jinx it!Oh yeah, would have been great to get there this year, but now I ca get the full island experience next year!

Must be awkward to accidentally bump into Mrs. on the plane to Ibiza...I know a guy went for 2 days told his Mrs he was working all weekend..
I'm sure they've broken the rules however the video on the newspaper report does not look too bad.Experimental Beach at Cap d'es Falco shut down over flouting social distancing restrictions
Looks like Germany, France and Norway have/will introduce restrictions for Spain (or advice to avoid parts of Spain), current news in the UK from the government is that there is an emergence of a second wave in/across Europe and hence the reasoning for the change in FCO advice and Quarantine for UK visitors to Spain....link is from Daily Mail so the best source of 'honest' news.In germany they expect that holiday returners bring the virus ( newspaper ).
Maybe its the same in UK.
In germany there will be only a test , not quarantine if one comes back from a risk country. Maybe it will change in future.
Thats the reason for the measures , maybe : They cannot explain it to the people who stay at home. Returner is returner.
I believe this is the governments plan more than anything. Paid us all furlough and now want to make sure we’re spending their money in the UK.Notice now there have ben four days around 2000 new cases (all of Spain) so it's level and falling slightly. Hopefully these outbreaks are now under control and those numbers will continue to fall.
One note; in Sturgeon's press conference today she let it slip "don't go abroad, stay in Scotland and help the scottish economy". I see.....they want us to spend our money at home (in the cold and wet) and not somewhere safe like Ibiza.
