You don’t have to Quarantine from Ibiza
It changed. Mainland visitors will have to fly back to UK via France instead of Ibiza now ?
You don’t have to Quarantine from Ibiza
Italy is doing a lot of testing, on worldometer website you can see how many test are done, in relationship to the total population. Of the european "big" countries, Italy, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium... have all very similar amount of tests done. Only France has a much lower number (about the half). UK is almost double of the others.Yes italy defo are not social distancing and following the rules knowing the Italians....they have been recent parties packed and they will be doing indoor clubbing soon
It maybe italy are not doing as much testing as the other countries
Quite a stupid move not to exclude the islands from the quarantine. And what makes it worse is that without an official travel warning to the islands, it will probably be more difficult to cancel any bookings. You have to quarantine from when returning from anywhere in Spain.
I’ve just heard on the news that they are asking for an exception - fingers and toes crossedI am lucky that I can work from home when I return from Ibiza in September. Was also planning a long weekend in Palma in October, but currently looks unlikely, although I think we will see an exception for Balearics and Canaries soon.
If the cases get under control there’s every change the quarantine requirement will be removed by the time you’re due to come home.Literally just paid my holiday in full last week to Ibiza with the wife and kids. Zero chance my work (nurse) will let me take unpaid leave.
Literally hung out to dry for 2k by the government.due to fly in 21 days.
Apparently been reported Gove was on the call to make the decision on quarantine, and joked he's off to ibiza in few weeks and should have fought for exemption for the islands.balearic government working on creating a safe flight corridor with the UK. am sure canaries will do the same
Agree, wont book anything this year as its too unpredictable after having 3 trips cancelled on me.Well I have two hold back-to-back; the second leaves in the middle of my quarantine! If they say Ibiza is on the quarantine list (end of Sept) I won't go, so that's 4 flights gone down the drain.
Seriously got to the point where I'm gonna give up booking anything abroad for years, and if milions feel the same way, that's the end of the airline industry as we know it.
Can work tell you not to go if you have to self isolate when you return? They’ve accepted my dates off but can they turn around and now say no to going? I’m guessing they could ask me to use more of my holidays up if it means self isolating.
Seems guidance is you'd have to work from home if that is possible, or take it as Holiday, or agree unpaid leave with your employer.
Some employers might be a bit more charitable if you had the trip booked pre-corona and were unable to cancel it. But if youve booked recently you've increased your risk and I can see why they wouldent be flexible, otherwise we'd all be on the 'book a weeks holiday and get an extra 2 weeks paid leave at home' game!
Yeah that's a better idea. Test 24hrs on arrival and again 72hrs (incase unlucky and was infected just before returning). The government should ask all travellers returning from Spain to 'get tested' when they arrive back in Britain and if their test is negative there is no need to self isolate. Plenty of drive-thru test zones. My sister works in a care home and had a slight cough. She was told to self-isolate for 14 days, but when she got home they told her to get tested and she was clear. She was back at work within 48 hrs.
