... and in other news, catering forms asked to tip off the authorities if they are asked to provide catering for events .... next they will be imposing threats of imprrisonment like they do on accountants if they don't secretly tip off authorities if they suspect a transaction might be associated with illegal activity

Back to the masks - so basically if you keep to the hotel pool, beach and promenade (unless you go into a shop) then a mask isn't necessary. So a walk from the top end to bottom of PDB is all promenade, mask-free, but the road that runs parallel isn't so a mask would be required then (??).
As for Formentera, well, where do you start? The vast majority is open space, the front of Es Pujols could be described as a promenade as would the walk from Roca Bella, as for La Savina - what counts as a promenade there? The road where the stalls are?!
But overall it looks reasonable, beaches and promenades are open spaces and masks won't be necessary, also if you walk into a bar for a drink and meal. Not as bad as it could have been. I'll carry one in my bag, but hoping to buy some exclusive Ibiza or Formentera ones!!

Because the problems who are reported : I read its normal and often, that a vaccine has a larger immune reaction than the illness itself. That means a vaccine can work better than thougt before. That means that the newspaper reports are not so bad : Vaccine works maybe longer than the immune reaction of the illness.
If it works 6 , 8 , 10 months at the first generation of vaccines , its a big succes.
I would go to a club if it works some months
. Maybe we need 2 threathments a year . No problem for me .

it's a pain in the jacksy but you just get used to it.

That is pretty standard (unless you are Donald Trump). He shouldn't be in a position to gain from government contracts that he will the one directing. It is all to avoid conflict of interest and bias.

It seems to me this move has been made to control spin and direct political narratives. It's motivated not by the interest of the American public, but by a desire to win the election. It's a power-grab and devoid of ethical merit.
I agree that transparency would be the best move, but he's afraid of that because if it's left up to us we would trash him. Let's not forget, he's been impeached by one chamber of the legislature.

The article also mentions that the guy will donate all profits made between May (when he took his government position) and now. So he won't benefit from the stock price increase in the last few days.

All I can say is it's really tragic to me. So many are dying and suffering, and sadly it would seem the thought in the fronts of most people's minds is 'when will life return to normal'. I can't say it should be any different though.
I'm lucky to not be bothered by lockdown. I adapted my workout early on; no gym. I don't miss the dance club too terribly. I hadn't been going to church. I cut my own hair, etc. But I understand some people are likely wondering what in the heck is going to happen, have lost their job, and could face certain financial ruin.
I guess the main thing is respecting the orders. When I see people not social distancing it's frustrating. It would be so easy to just follow all the little rules.

I'm not sure what you mean by that. Slaoui was announced as the leader of operation warp speed on May 15, and he announced he was divesting less than a week later (check the date on that article).

i ve read for people from France u have to fill a form since july 1rst with a Qr code if going to Spain, a way to know ur date and flight to ibiza.

Why not have someone independent of the White House and its administration be transparent with the public? It's like all integrity is lost when you make loyalty to the interests of the president a function of the job of someone whose job it is to report about the status of a pandemic virus. There is a conflict of interest.

That's supposed to be the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) but they have been totally neutered by this administration. It was just announced that COVID data will be reported to Dept of Heath and Human Services (HHS) instead of the CDC. The secretary of HHS is a cabinet level position so reports directly to the president. We are in agreement that the administration has been negligent in their handling of this crisis and if they had spent half of the effort they spent denying this problem we would be in a much better position.
But let me suggest a silver lining... most people have now picked up on the administrations incompetence. He was able to spin and BS until COVID actually started affecting the deniers. Trump is rapidly losing support in states he won that are now getting hammered by COVID. At this moment, the interests of Trump and the American people are starting to align. The only way out is to actually address COVID.
