I think you have hit the nail on the head there @MrHullMysterious

the person working would be the one keeping track. Show ID, write down the info. Would keep others from seeing the peoples details. There's honestly a million ways around it, just comes down to whether you want to know if you'd been exposed.

Of course, that's how it should work. But this is the UK licensing industry we're taking about. That just won't happen.

The red-blooded barman on minimum wage, who will no doubt be run off his feet with umpteen other jobs to do looking after people's private information. It's fantasy land to expect your data to be secure

Could do is as a google doc form on an iPad or something on entry.

Customer fills it in and then presses 'send' and then it reverts to a brand new form.

Obviously the device / pen would need to be sanitised between each person entering so that's not gonna happen.

Not sure what the policy makers are expecting....it's totally normal human behavior to party and be in close contact with others.
II will do my July trip to Ibiza...because I want to see and feel the island at least once a year and will have a good time anyway.
But if Spain keeps these rules for the rest of the year...I'll cancel my September trip and go to Croatia or another country where social distancing is gone. Outside it's a useless measure anyway. It was theorized by virologists that outside contagion is really unlikely, even with no distancing. For me, those theories have been proven in the Netherlands because after Easter (beaches were full) and the Black Lives Matter demos...there has been no peak in infections at all.

some provincias in Spain (Aragon) have actually now gone back into Phase 2 because there are still cases being detected. the distancing is absolutely vital but people psychologically think it's all over because the nice weather's arrived so people are getting casual with the masks and meet-ups. but it is not over and in some places is getting worse

I think it would need an industry standard app and database that encrypts all data at point of entry. With 10 days or so to go and hospitality sector still being cold shouldered by the government, I just can't see that happening, let alone the budget being there. But I'd love to be proved wrong

I think British people are always a bit wary of any sort of big brother type stuff, especially with regards to data protection these days. Everyone likes to think they are anonymous, but the reality is the govt know a lot about us already. More than we think.

They’ve certainly got my history logged in great detail.

Going forward I think we are going to get strong armed into accepting more of a track and trace type culture. The govt will say it’s the only way to get back to some form of ‘normal’.

We could see medical details included with biometric passports. Details of vaccinations and the like. Not entirely a bad thing for travellers, it would be much better than carrying random sheets of paper around airports for yellow fever jabs etc.

Thinking back about 10 years ago now, we carried retina scanners around Afghanistan with us. Amazing bits of kit when we took down high value targets that we needed to positively identify.

At the time I thought they would become more commonplace back in the UK, something similar to the ANPR system.

I know a lot of places these days use biometric devices like finger print scanners to gain access and log movements etc

Would take a massive effort to get everyone on board with this sort of stuff and I think a lot of people just wouldn’t accept it at all, they find it too obtrusive.

Funny little side story, some Gurkha soldiers got in trouble in Afghanistan with these retina scanners.

Unofficial story that filtered through to me was that they had took out a high value taliban commander. In order to confirm it, they had to prove it using the retina scanner.

Unfortunately the battery was flat and the only option was carrying the body back many miles.

A solution was found by hacking his head off with the infamous Kukri, carried by all Gurkha soldiers, and carrying it back to base in a sandbag so they could scan his retinas later once they’d charged up the scanner.

You can imagine the uproar this created ?

I thought it was a good example of thinking outside of the box.

Bit worried about the extended lockdown in part of Germany - how many may have travelled to the Balearics already for their holidays? Hopefully none, but this darned thing won't go away.

It's really just the production staff of a meat processing plant that is infected and the reason for the lockdown. Virtually all of them are migrant workers who share dorms and don't socialise much outside of their group. Don't think the outbreak will extend beyond the county, let alone to the Balearics.

The Aragon Area in Spain is much more interesting.

In germany its not a real lockdown in this area. Its possible to go out and to travel.
That can be a problem

Looks like uk has cancelled lockdown essentially.

2 metres to 1

You can meet indoors with any other house hold, but only 1 at a time (so max 2 different households under 1 roof).

No delay between seeing a house hold

Pubs, hair dressers and cinemas can open 4th July - with safety measures.

How about clubs and events?

How about clubs and events?
clubs, indoor gyms, spas etc nope.

Love how government said we do small and careful steps. This feels like, "stuff it, let it go and see what happens".

Which is fair if number of cases in community is small. But look at those tennis players at that tournament; lots have tested positive. So it's pretty good at popping up after lurking.

Edit: it's like glitter, can't get rid of it and find it everywhere ?

Nightclubs still closed and also (more annoyingly)...gyms. Which makes 0 sense whatsoever. What science says cinemas/restaurants are any more or less indoors than a gym? Making it up as they go along
Less heavy breathing and exhaling in cinemas? (Depends on what the film is haha) also lots of surfaces been touched a lot for prolonged periods?‍♂️

I've actually got in better shape with my home weights. Just chicken legs hard to work out!?

Same as in the Netherlands. Crazy stuff.

It's not less indoors etc, its the case of people touching all of the equipment, not cleaning it afterwards and therefore spreading their germs more than they would in a restaurant for example. Restaurants can stop people sitting at their tables until their cleaned between guests. It will take a hell of a lot more staffing / cleaners in gyms to ensure cleanliness surely?
