In France, Next monday we are allowed to move 100km max from home and with a valid reason, allowed to take bus train metro with company certificate (End of lockdown:no more filled form ,in order to go outside home  )

Further step will be the authorisation to move inside country for holidays, even for summer in France im doubtful

Traveling abroad for holidays will be last step as the concern of government is their own country to save : We are at WAR so don't even think about holidays until war is over:Good luck for them

The quarantine is the fix many countries choose b4 a vaccine will be found, can't see country allowing their people to move abroad as part of quarantine strategy.it needs only 1 infected people to infect lot of.
How can u dayly check thousand of tourists landing from all over the world?even if ibiza is free Virus, they wont take risks for economy sake. and very complicated task, for now we lack some tests in France
Even if ibz borders opened to tourists july aug sept oct, i can't see french government allowing us to go abroad.

Can you see yourself on holyday with a mask on, at the beach? better be safe at home even without holidays along those hard times
it's quiet frightening to go to supermarket so can't see myself travelin distance more than Home->office
Life at slow motion is not fun but we don't have choice until this virus crisis will be part of history

Other countries are faring better compared to UK because they're adhering to lockdown rules. But guess what when their lockdown is eased? Bam - UK like stats. So what do you do, lockdown for 18 months? I'm not really seeing how this can go any other way. 1- we live with the virus and accept it. 2. Virus and ruined economy.

The bottom line (apart from health risks) is it won't be much fun. People pay a lot of money to fly, stay in a hotel, eat out, etc, so ultimately they expect a return in the form of 'fun'. Will you have to stay in your own group or can you mingle with other groups? What about the practicalities of eating/drinking while being expected generally to wear a mask?

Oh I would be freaking happy to be able to enjoy Ibiza in simplicity if that's what it is.
A day on the beach, swimming, eating at my favorite places...even if it's with a mask.
Not expecting a typical Ibiza party holiday this year...I will take whatever is possible. Once governments and airlines make it possible, I'll be there.

Well I hope it becomes possible for you and those that want to go.

For me, I get stressed just going to the local supermarket! I don't think I'd cope well going on holiday as I'd be looking at everyone as the potential 'infected'. Guess it would be like an episode of the walking dead ?

a mask is only needed in a zone where lots of people congregate in a small space. planes, buses, subways. supermarkets too of course. and in cities in busy streets. ibiza won't be busy this year, even if tourism gets back. so IMO there's absolutely no need to wear a mask on any of the beaches or in the beachclubs on your hammocks or on one of the terraces of any given restaurant. the places here are preparing to accommodate people so that they can enjoy their holidays with safety distance everywhere. the mediterranean resorts where life happens outdoor anyway can easily adapt to that.

really, the only two risks I see are getting to and from ibiza (but as I said, not a bigger risk than taking a bus in your city) and the nightclubs.

I know quite a lot of people who will have a lot of fun spending some time here in peak/late summer on some beaches which are usually packed but this year (and likely only this very year in their entire lives) are the way they used to be 30 years ago.

don't get me wrong, I'm totally aware that a) the return to actual normality (with packed clubs and 'life as we knew it') will only ever happen when a cure or vaccine is here and b) any new spike could fcuk up this mini-season lots of people here envisage. but you cannot think badly of that - ibiza relies on tourism and thus it's obvious people here try the utmost to make some kind of season happen.

Ok. no mask outside. Makes sense. Maybe the staff

Thing is, the UK will more than likely need UK tourists later in the year (assuming restrictions lift a little) because it's unlikely we'll get much traffic from abroad. Will be much easier (and less stressful) just to spend time here and support the local economy. Likewise, say Spanish people can't fly abroad, maybe the tourist destinations there will fill with Spanish people? Maybe people will (re)discover what's on their own doorstep?

yes of course. that is totally understandable and discovering your own country is certainly a good thing. but situation permitting I‘m sure there's plenty of people that would put up with a quiet ibiza season (in terms of numbers and noise) and get their island dose anyway rather than holidaying in their country. and I'm sure the airlines and their staff would also be delighted could they pick up work again in some form

Well the boris announcement was worth waiting for ?

Short of it:
If can't work from home, you're encouraged to go to work. Also unlimited exercise and allowed to sunbath or play sports

Primary schools opening in June

Some limited shops and hospitality in July.

Dependent on things going well and sticking to social distancing. Also quarantine for those returning to uk (from june??)

So, wfh for foreseeable. Not very clear on what none wfh businesses should start back up. Retail? Fast food? Or just construction? ?‍♂️

Me too going out nowadays gives me a bit of anxiety

And the thought of being on a plane right now or traveling is alot

I think I may end up being a recluse soon:spank:

Going back to the office not looking forward to that but I think that will be months and Months away

He said, from Wednesday, we can drive to wherever we take exercise. Didn't mention any limits on distance, so I'm off to the lake District, boots and picnic in the boot.

TBH, maybe that's not so bad, providing you really can keep distance from other people. My experience of walking/climbing in the Lake District from last year, even mid-week, is that could still be pretty hard.

Guess key test for uk is if they extend the furlough scheme. If not, they will have to open schools etc so parents can go to work. (Or a lot more unemployed)

Also interesting they didn't brief Scotland or Wales about the change in message (stay at home -> stay alert) before it appeared in papers. (But briefed the papers!)

? slow clap.

Ive been supportive of the Government so far but thought tonights announcement was a mess.

Sadly a lot of our countryfolk arent bright sparks and will have just heard 'excercise and sunbathe as much as you like from Wednesday' all the graphs about R rates will have gone right over the heads of many. He'd have been better just saying 3 weeks more of the same rules.

I also bet there are thousands of people now trying to phone or message their boss to see if they are needed in work tomorrow or not. Should have given a weeks notice for that in my opinion.

I dunno how anyone can stick up for the government one bit. Total total shit show from the start and these speeches he gives just cause more questions than answers - making rules up as they go along and are f**king clueless

The go to work message is confusing. Media after said it's for construction and manufacturing *only*. Wasn't clear in the pantomime that was case as it said "if you can't wfh, you should try and go into work"

Debbie who does nails at a salon now thinks she has to go into work.

More detail tomorrow in parliament. Here is a brilliant idea, why didn't you say will be announced Monday *in* parliament. Or even better do it last Wednesday when you started this current circus.

Once they try and send office workers back (which might be june?) People will start to go to each others houses. I mean what the diff if sit 2m apart?

I predict by end of may we will see rises in detected cases by a noticable amount. Not as if the numbers are starting from a low base either (approx 5k a day)

Ps: bbc reported you can see member of another household outside at say a park so long as keep 2m+ distance. Sure that will end up with lots of mixed groups at the park.?‍♂️

I'm not so sure about the eating establishments - I reckon these will prove to be a big factor in spreading the virus and I would not be at all surprised if allowing delivery of prepared meals throughout all this in UK has had a significant impact on spread. Bottom line is somebody else you cannot see has prepared your plate of food and that is about as safe as walking around licking a railing.

Agree with you about public transport. It's basically just not safe though - you are only really safe in your own car.

Why just when office workers go back? This myth about it being ok for construction workers to keep going or go back to work just because they work outside is laughable.
