Bold plans !

they are, but I don't think they are unrealistic. I actually think those phases make sense rather than saying 'the whole country goes back up on date x'. let's keep in mind the phases can be extended if they see that two weeks aren't enough. so end of june is really a best case scenario.

The same plan "mas o menos" has been announced in France by our Prime Minister...

Thanks for that, Stivi; Phase 4 could be in operation wheni'm due to leave the UK, but I don't think I will be allowed to leave as we are several stages behind.
So basically I can now write off June; but if we are allowed to fly out of the UK in September, and Spain allows us to land - then wahey, a week on Formentera looks a better prospect now than a week ago. Push it up to 60% chance of happening!

But - Spain which was hit badly initially, has a plan.

The UK has a blank piece of paper, and the MP's have forgotten to bring their pencils. Spain with the capacity rules is leading the way sensibly.

Suggestion for the UK; r/e pubs and restaurants, snack bars and the like, have everyday and evening "ticket only" where you get your ticket on-line, once capacity is reached don't give away any more. Means basically one pub for the night (a good thing to stop cross-infection) rather than pub crawls. Also makes it easier for "bouncers" to prevent access - no arguments about capacity.

at this stage, unless either spain's plan doesn't work out at all or UK's pandemic situation is still shit, I can definitely see your formentera trip in september happening.

So basically it is the Swedish mode of operation from the end of June? I hope it works for you.

It's a stupid situation for Ibiza, since unlike most Spanish territories, it can become entirely corona-free within maybe a month, but Ibiza needs tourism, and as soon as travel resumes the virus will come back from the mainland (or other countries).

I am curious, is any contact tracing being done in Ibiza? It's unrealistic on the mainland, but with like one case every two days on the island, it should be possible to ask thorough questions and test every contact?

well we don't know the details yet as to what exactly will phase four entail (the new normal).

I'm not sure, but I would hope that what you wrote (testing contacts of positives) is happening here on the island. it makes sense and we have the resources.

It does look promising,? these phases run accordingly and we can still salvage a little summer toward what would of been the end of season, optimistic or not it's the closest we have been to being back in the game

Well... Your government will have to agree with mine ABOUT AIR FRANCE-KLM...
I'm not as optimistic as you about it...
Not sure what you're not optimistic about?

Our governments don't have to agree about the conditions for the separate loans. French government will support Air France. Dutch government will support KLM. Then the group / mother company Airfrance KLM can survive the crisis.

If I can get there, and as you allude to things don't worsen, it does look like things should be fairly normal. Sure bar, shop, restaurant space will probably be restricted, but I can't remember many places being over 50% full there in September ordinarily. Last year the hotel I was in - late Sept, had about two - three dozen guests. Plenty of room in the dining area.

just listening to president of government, it's looking good.
update coming in a few minutes.
we'll have a bit of summer :)
One of the countries with the strictest lockdown....comes with a solid exit plan. Sounds good to me.
And yeah perhaps its bold, but it's right up in my alley as you would expect as I've been really worried about countries just locking us up without a strategy to let us free again. I'd say go for it Spain. There's no living without risk and they can always extend some measures beyond those 2 weeks steps, but at least this is something. It gives the people perspective, and end in sight.

Maybe the Risk isnt so big in a Dining room or restaurants with distanced tables. Where its big , we saw it , is in Clubs and bars ( Ischgl , Berlin ).
These are definitely high Risk spots. Can see a Holiday in September , Maybe without Clubs. Future will S#show ...

So is the ‘new normal’ full normal, or just businesses open with social distancing in place?
This is a discussion in the Netherlands the last few weeks.
Social distancing doesn't work everywhere. Not in bars, clubs, pubs, public transport, libraries, airplanes.
So while social distancing will probably be a part of the new normal for months to come everywhere in the world, there must be exceptions where age limit, face masks, temp checks etc. are the new normal because distancing just doesn't work.
