I must have missed the bit when he said there’d be a longer lockdown in the current form. As far as I’m aware it’s still set for review on May 7th, where I think there’ll be a SLIGHT reduction in measures.

I suspect in the next week or two, non essential shops will reopen IF they can do so with the measures supermarkets have in place. I also hope that we’ll be able to see family after May 7th.
Maybe I am wrong I thought I seen that today...and read it somewhere

I tried to find the article I found it on but can't.. Maybe I was day dreaming ? sorry for the fake news?

Are you from the toon? Yeah North east has a massive drink problem, guaranteed every winter the papers will share articles when there is lasses out on the big market in mini skirts when it's well below 0 ? ain't no stopping

Born and bread mate ? Yourself?

Yes haha, I think they've been using the same picture of those two scantily clad girls in -12 degrees for about 15 years now ??

Trouble with alcohol is you can drink at a level that's potentially damaging your health yet still always feel okay the next day.
Very true. Plenty of people are functioning alcoholics and hide it well. Imagine a lot of people have upped their drinking recently least of all me. First few weeks of lockdown I found myself drinking way too much particularly as full on self isolating and not being able to go out and run. I find the running is the thing that keeps the booze in check.

As for alcohol....probably half to watch my health and half because there's nothing else to do - I'm noting down how many units are on the bottle/can and writing them down so I don't average more than 24/week, the "old" recommended level. It's working too.

And then when the end of lockdown looms, I'm going dry for a week so I'll be ready to party.

But I think I've admitted to myself now that there will be no Ibiza or any foreign holiday/trip this year. Also thinking the first they will let us out properly will be Bloody Christmas, a time of year I despise and usually stay in...

I am! Massive Catholic family from burnopfield/Byermoor/Sunnyside. I loved spending summers up there. Although my DNA is over 50% Irish.

I know the area ? cold winters up there!

Yeah same mate, I'm a pure blooded God fearing Roman Catholic.

Grandad was Irish and Grandmother was Italian, so pretty inevitable.

Massive Irish family demographic in the West end.

I can drink a good few units in the evening, yet still get up at ~6:15am and get an hour's running in.

Not that long ago, I was trying to cut down to the recommended level of 14 units a week (there must have been a couple of weeks where I actually hit that level), but that is now well out the window. Could drink that over a couple of nights and honestly feel like I'd had nowt.

Haha fcuking hell, I remember seeing this at the time.

Imagine trying to explain that one to your missus! ? ?‍♂️

'err, I was out for a walk and felt a bit ill. Saw a red light and thought it was a hospital. Went in and met some very attentive ladies, so caring, but they wanted money up front'

Have to ask the gov : Maybe they will be forgotten ,otherwise

Have they? hadn't noticed that but not surpised.. I'm from the boro mate the land where its acceptable for people to pull their couches out the front of their house when the sun shines?‍♂️ aha

Life in the North East ?

I love Teesside, very down to earth sort of place.

Massive industrial area, I'm surprised Covid 19 even gets a look in around there with all the smog.

I've got my rigging/slinging tickets, and sometimes get jobs in the shipyards down there when I'm back home. Haverton Hill is an interesting place ?
