Cocoon 2015

No experience in this, so excuse my naivety, but surely it's a bit ballsy coming in on your first season and taking those acts away from established players on the island. Regardless of your rep elsewhere.

Will this be a topic of conversation at IMS?

that was pretty much my point. and surprising that the artists are accepting it - no-one knows if hyte will be a success, lets face it the competition is pretty heavy - so it is surprising that the likes of Dice, Plex, Dettman and Klock etc are seemingly happy to exclusively play at Hyte when they could play for Cocoon/Enter (to use just two examples) and be pretty much guarenteed a busy room....

yeah you can surely see it like that (a bit ballsy). but then again, I do understand that such a strong agency thinks 'hmmm instead of giving away all our artists to various nights, we should actually do our own night'. if that's a good decision we shall find out this very season...

I don't think all those artists are going to be 100% exclusive to them. but most probably none of them are going to play other nights at the same club. and IF they play other venues on the island, then it's probably not going to be in the same week they play hyte. just so that hyte gets protection (which is a normal cause really).

you know, hyte will definitely have strong line ups. but still, it won't be a walk in the park for them. first of all, they have a big in-house competition with the two biggest and well-established techno nights on the island. second, what we've already discussed, if people go to ibiza for a week, they won't wanna go to the same club 3 times in a row. third, they go up against paradise (who've become very strong) and we love (bit of a surprise box this year) and fourth, a strong line up alone doesn't guarantee success. let's take enter 2014 as an example - I think we all agree their line ups were very, very strong (both discoteca and terraza), but still - they had lower numbers than in the year before!

it's going to be very interesting for sure.

bang on mate. totally right.

i do understand the agencies point of view......i am still surprised though that the artists have let themselves be dictated to in that way. Basically, to use your comment, the agency has told these dj's they cannot play Cocoon or Music On.

I know that there is huge politics and exclusives in Ibiza (i see it myself in Liverpool with our night) but i am surprised that the artists have allowed themselves to be taken out the equation from playing 2 of the biggest nights on the Island.

No really sure having Villalobos as the main man on the terrace for many dates is a good thing.
He unfortunately can kill the party when he is out of his mine like he's most of the time!

an interesting exception to this is enzo siragusa, who plays twice and for the first time for Cocoon this season (in june and then in august, according to his site). Though he is artistalife !

My guess is the full lineup will be out there soon but Adam Beyer confirmed via RA for next date of July 27th
