#Brexit

Has it not crossed your mind that the media searched out these people.

No doubt. The worrying thing is, they're obviously not that difficult to find.

Weighing things up, I think I'd still be distancing myself from these people. Even if they were in "my camp"

You obviously disagree with the views of most remainers and vice-versa, and that's fine. But although you might disagree ardently, I reckon you'd struggle to find many spewing nonsensical ramblings like that

Plenty of videos of clueless divs from the remain marches, nobody could watch them and claim it represents the whole of the remain side. The same should be said for Leave. If the media was pro Brexit the coverage would of been far different.

I'm not sure I really buy the media bias thing either tbh. From both sides, that is. It's symptomatic of Western societies for both sides of the political spectrum to claim unfair bias with little basis in reality. In truth, we dont know how lucky we are to have a largely balanced media - or at least source choice - compared to less fortunate populations (I'm looking at Korea, China, the Middle East)
This is an interesting article that gave me food for thought:

It could be argued that BBC leaned towards leave because of the platform it gave and continues to give the likes of Farage and Rees-Moog, two complete non-entities in the grand scheme

The BBC didn’t lean towards leave, every positive news article was started with ‘despite Brexit’.
Question Time panels were always negative against Brexit.
Farage a non entity?? Have a day off, he is the reason Brexit happened. Not many political figures have achieved what he has.

Why would any moral person invest in the arms industry?
If he or she wants a pension for themselves, or their kids. After Obama got the peace price Lockheed is up 700 percent. One might look into how “ moral “ European Central Bank, Federal Bank of US, Quantitative easing, national debt driven “growth” and the risk of hyper inflation is.

No, the general vibe. I never had a problem with people with an intelligent case for leaving, but this kind of stuff (see below) is embarrassing, right?

Cringey, yes. Massively.

Embarrassing, no. I’m pretty thick skinned.

People have the freedom to express their views however they wish in the UK (barring certain things like inciting racial hatred etc).

Even at the expense of looking like a bell end on national television ? Something leavers and remainers have done extensively.

Indeed.

I’m off the belief that if you could actually sell your morals on Ebay, then arms dealers/investors/directors would have them up for auction immediately with some witty slogan like ‘for sale, one set of morals. Never used’ always keen to make a few quid.

It’s a massive multi million industry that most are unaware of. I became very familiar with this dark market in early 2003 in southern Iraq. Place was awash with Italian made VS series landmines. Had very craftily been sold to both sides during the Iran-Iraq war.

Very low metallic content and hard to detect, coupled with anti handling devices and complex bladder style pressure plates made them very very tricky to deal with. Sadly a lot of children fall foul to this stuff, their natural inquisitiveness being the mechanism.

Italy you little rascals.

Wish I could say the UK can hold its head up high in this field, but it’s just as bad.

Not his biggest fan after his time at the Mirror, but he’s spot on here. View attachment 8301

A lot of people are manipulated by billionaires, the gutter press and easy "solutions"... Look at Trump rallies if you want to see the worst of it.

Also consider that a lot of people are out for themselves rather than showing much concern for other people or the environment.

How did Hitler gain popular support in Germany?

Very well put. I half-way have faith that that is changing, but I'm not 100% sure. We have progressive political energy right now in the U.S. as the first of 50 states declares their preference for who will go on the ballot. Our election for President is in November and I hope we get someone new. Anyway, the news report I heard at the gym about an hour ago (3:00 PM Pacific Time) said that Bernie Sanders, a progressive candidate, and Elizabeth Warren, another progressive candidate, were both doing well. That' really good news for the environment and a slew of other things, so I'm feeling good about that. But they have a fight ahead as many, particularly the older of the Democrat (I'm a democrat) crowd will feel that things are too "socialist". I don't think that's the case at all; despite Sanders saying so, lol. He's a democratic socialist, everybody knows it, and there's a difference! Anyway...

Sorry for ranting. I hope Brexit makes a really smooth transition and everything turns out in a positive light/vibe for the UK.

ONE of Scotland’s staunchest Brexiteers has blasted Boris Johnson’s post-Brexit immigration plans, warning they will be “catastrophic” for fishing industry.

Speaking on Radio 4’s Today programme, Jimmy Buchan, the CEO of the Scottish Seafood Association, warned that any “sea of opportunity” coming from Brexit would be lost if processing firms were forbidden from hiring workers from overseas

What did these morons think they were voting for?
