Gonna order Tony Pikes book later, bound to be a few mad stories in it. I was lucky enough to have lunch with him a few weeks ago on my short visit. Amazing guy .

Yes this is on my Christmas list. I went to Doorly and friends a couple of years back at pikes and had a natter with him at the bar. Charming chap. He sent a FB friend request shortly after. I felt quite honoured.
 
Did you get the paperback rather than the kindle edition of Mr Pikes? Take the paperback has got some pictures, so better with that than kindle?
 
There aren't loads of photos in it, but I guess I could download to kindle app on phone to see pictures in colour

Is is called "Shadows Across The Moon" by Helen Donlon.
The book concentrates on the recent history rather than on the medieval times (and beyond).
I am going to re-read it straight away, it is that good.
Shop around, I have got mine for £3.50 (ebook).
