Books about Ibiza?

Really wanted to enjoy The Life Impossible but couldn’t. Went into the realms of ridiculous for me.

I’ve just ordered it along with the Neneh Cherry autobiography

Is it a tough Read or just gets a bit Naff? Been looking forward to reading it

An old pal of mine called Steve (whose name might be familiar to anyone who ever spent time in Enfield, Brighton or on the Balearic thread) has just published a book of essays to accompany his 50 years on earth. There's a big Ibiza theme to a lot of it, as many of the memories are in some way connected to his experiences of CDM or bars such as Babel.

*disclaimer: I myself helped out with various bits & pieces but, leaving that aside, it is a mighty good read!

A bit of shameless promotion ha ha ha, my third novel is (mostly) set in Ibiza in 1994 and is a prequel and a sequel to All Back to Mine and All Back to Yours.

They have been described as 'Layer Cake Meets The Inbetweeners' which I am kind of okay with lol

Iain Stewart's Rough Guide book is indeed a fantastic piece of work. It was invaluable in helping me explore the island further and further from the starting point of San An - which was my, and what was many many other people's Ibiza starting point back then - long before the PDB expansion. A huge amount of my early island discoveries are down to that book.
thanks Amigo ! glad to help out

View attachment 3157 One for the Spanish speakers on here. I've been reading a really good book called "Bacalao" (by a DJ called Luis Costa) which is a look back at the largely undocumented 80s/90s Valencia scene through the eyes of the people who created it. Contains a lot of references to what was happening in Ibiza at the same time + interviews with Shaun Ryder, Alfredo and a whole load of DJs I had never heard of with amazing record collections. Everyone's forgotten about it now but 'bacalao' was huge on the mainland. The spanish media had a field day documenting the wild excesses of kids on the autopistas and the Canal+ documentary about it enjoys cult status. I caught the very tail end of it in 95 during a visit to the Valencia fallas when I saw just how huge those nights were. It was probably the last 'local' Spanish dance scene before the internet changed the game
Amazon says only 56pp long, is this correct ?
