The Specials to close Ibiza Rocks

Cant find this posted anywhere, but gutted I miss this one by a few days!

2-Tone legends The Specials are set to close the summer season at Ibiza Rocks.
An iconic British pop group, The Specials reformed last year amid acrimonious circumstances. Leader Jerry Dammers was left out of the line up, with the two parties exchanging barbed remarks in the press.
However the bad vibes have not extended to the band's live show. Already, it feels as if The Specials have never been away with the 2-Tone legends playing several lengthy tours across Europe and beyond.
Playing Coachella earlier this year, The Specials are now a bona fide festival attraction. The band draw crowds wherever they go, and their good time skank has been chosen to close the Ibiza Rocks summer season.
A lavish hotel on the White Island, Ibiza Rocks is now a notable venue. Supplying tourists with some rock thrills, each summer the hotel resounds to a series of fantastic shows.
This summer has been no exception, with the likes of Biffy Clyro, The Courteeners and more taking part. Ian Brown played a one off show at Ibiza Rocks, a matter of weeks before performing to thousands of fans at Platt Fields.
Now the season will come to a close with one final party. The Specials are set to play Ibiza Rocks on September 14th, ending a summer of huge names. The ska kings will be battle hardened after a number of summer excursions, playing festivals across Europe.
The band recently headlined Oya Festival in Norway, and have taken their skanking sound as far as Japan.
Evergreen ska-punks, The Specials will get the party started on September 14th. The final party will include a number of other guests, which will be announced nearer to the time.
The Specials have confirmed the following show:

matt can u link us a video or song or something, i know nothing about them i just know i was NOT hoping for a ska band.

Blah,

what a terrible dissapointment.

Other bands I am equally not intersted in seeing:

Anything Ska
Anything Country
Anything Classical
Anything Jazz
Anything Big Band

I cant imagine how far they had to go to pull this waste of space out of their hats.
What a joke.
I guess Pee Wee Herman and his amazing Skin Flute was actually busy that weekend.

At least UMEK is at space.

L.

I could list 50 bands or DJ's that would have been worth a trip to the island.
This is not.
No thank you I.R.

Always wanted to give Ibiza Rocks ago but the 2 Tuesdays im there this year its pendulum and then the closing is the Specials so I wont be going anywhere near it this year. Thought they would of had someone abit better than this for the closing party

Hmm...

the specials.

I have no idea who they are.

Of course i don't listen to country, Jazz, Classical, or Ska either.

Ska?

Really. In Ibiza.

That is the worst mismatch in the history of mismatches.

I can understand shagaloof...but Ibiza?

Really?

What is IR trying to pull with this crap?

A has been band with no star potential, mildly famous 30 years ago, has no songs outside of England that anyone has even heard of, and is even known to less than one one hundredth of one percent of the English speaking population.

EPIC FAIL Ibiza Rocks.

Might as well book some other no hit wonders.

Despicable.

That being said i have no problems with Ska or the Specials themselves...just the incredibly wrong venue.
