No way, give me a sunset at Kuhmaras any day of the wk, in the last 3 or 4 years have gone right off Mambos et al, too many dicks, too crowded, too commercialised. I remember going in 2000, granted it was August, but it almost felt like extension of West End.

i like kumharas, agree! But last time i went they gave me food poisoning + i guess its a matter of habits and memories. I have the BEST memo´s from the strip with my friends and I guess thats why that place has a special place in my heart. The more the marrier!!!

Been to sunset strip loads of times, lot of happy memories there from in my youth, just find it very commercialised and over-rated these days.

my best sunsets have been on my own with my bloke or one mate on a beach and we've climed some rocks to find a remote spot to look out on the sea! now thats a sunset and a meoment i promise u that :D
 
i know everyone says each to their own, but there are times when u just need to face facts and tell it how it is.
i just got back from my first trip to ibiza and it was a fantastic experience. was there for two weeks so i ventured down to the west-end one night when i wasnt going to one of the big clubs and it was just a pain in the arse. its just blackpool with sunshine and cheap drink, i also felt like i had to keep one eye out for any trouble that might have headed my way.

thats not ibiza for me, why dont those who go to the west end every night just go to malia or magaluf or somewhere like that, coz they're not there for the clubs or the music. i also met two girls when i was over there and it was like warfare if u actually wanted to dance with them, u could feel the hatred coming in ur direction from other guys.
after that, when i didnt go to a big club, i just went through to ibiza town, had a nice meal on the seafront and a few drinks in the bars, in a more cosmopoliton and more friendly atmosphere.
im not stereotyping people but just telling what i saw.

why go to magaluf when you have the west end?

I'ts not my scene, for sure, but it does exist so why not expect people to go there?

i must admit i find this whole west end 'debate' mildly amusing - especially the blackpool in the sun jibes......
i'm no expert but our beer drinking friends up west are doing just what they do on saturday night.......but every night.
our clubberiffic devotees are doing just the same, they even bring their own club nights from england or italy or wherever.
our gay amigos have their own canal street on c/ de la virgen where every night is saturday
the marine brigade have their own abersoch/cowes in the sun down at botafoch.
and finally, thousands of families, more than any of all the above categories combined, come to ibiza to lie on the beach and watch live entertainment or tv (big brother is so popular)

what gives any of us the right to say i don't like you - go away!

The point some of us are trying to make, which few people seem to understand, is that its a shame most folk back home have an image of Ibiza as blackpool in the sun which IMO is caused by the west end.
 
I don't like the west end at all, just not my scene. Too aggressive and full on. Thats just me tho, obviously there are a lot of people who enjoy it - we are all different!
Thats not 2 say I don't like San An, lots of fab places like sunset cafes, Bar M etc
Agree tho, am soooooo sick of peoples reaction when i mention Ibiza - constantly explaining myself - grrr - Ibiza uncovered has a lot to answer for!!!
 
west end

every one like ibiza for the own reason.

i used to be a fan of the westend. i still like to visit the west when in ibiza
some of the bars are great. and it's cheap drinks.

but it is just not the same as the years gone by.

might be me but the west end has lost it magic. their are more flyer people, photoprahers, flower sellers and lookie lookie to mant people after the same money. you can't get a minutes peice to just chill and have a drink....

sorry frontliner the westend is loosing it end it now feels like i might as well be out in the uk,, their is just no magic left..
 
but what do you concider to be magic in the first place? not rtying to diss anyone, but all i could see in the evenings were drunken loud people, puking, making noize, trashing the place turning the streets into a pile of junk!
west end during daytime has its charm though!
 
i understand where u r coming from stephen & rusty, but my point is why do these people come to ibiza when its not ibiza they're coming for when other resorts are probably more suited to them.
the majority of people that go to the west end act in a way that is aggresive, loud and on the whole very irritating. what gives them the right to travel to a foreign country, with a different culture and language and behave the way they do, with no respect for the country they are in or the people that live there.
the people in the west end act in a very british way if u like with all the drinking and loudness, the point im making about ibiza is that it is more of a cosmopoliton place that these people dont appreciate, they should try and get more into the way of things and go on holiday for a different experience, not just drinking in the sun.

Wicked crack and no stuck up twats....

Oh and we got ourselves an ambulance home!!

We weren't fighting though it's just the keys were in it and my mate had never driven an ambulance before! :lol:
 
THERE ARE 2 SIDES TO SAN AN - I LIKE IT IN THE DAY, REALLY DONT LIKE IT IN THE EVENING. IM SORRY........

BUT SAN AN IS GENERALLY A GOOD PLACE, ALTHOUGH MANY THINKTHATS ITS JUST A PLACE FOR LAGER PEOPLE AND THE HARDCORE TOURISTS - BUT IT HAS MANY BEAUTIFUL SPOTS AS WELL, I THINK WEST END IS JUST A "BAD NEIGHBORHOOD" LIKE EVERY TOWN HAS ITS UPS AND DOWNSIDES!
 
I went there last yr for the first time ever, and on my first night I had my drink spiked with GHB in bar Amsterdam. My last memory was havin a really good laugh with a loads of mates going in and out of loads of really cheap bars and actually enjoying the west end, getting a wee merry (!) before going on to Manumission (..well that was the plan). But then I woke up in a hospital bed in Ibiza Town with a drip in my arm and everything! My mates had to fill me in with the details as I really dont remember anything, and it didnt sound too good!

My advise would be to watch your drink! In 'proper' clubs like Pacha, etc. etc, you dont have to watch out for getting your drink spiked or anything because it just doesnt happen in those places. As it was my first time in Ibiza I didnt know what to expect when I went to the West End and treated it in the way I would do if I was in a proper club, but then some idiot decided it was funny to spike my drink, or was using it as a date rape drug.

I did go back to the West End though, with a larger group of friends this time, but just tended to us it as a place to get cheap drinks before going onto a proper club.
 
oh dear same thing happened to me not long ago, both me and my friend who joined me, couldnt remember a thing for 4 hours, how we seperated, got ourselves home or anything. i felt so sick the day after i thought i was going to die! i just dont see the purpose of doing it, i mean giving out free drugs = illegal + expensive and why to boys as well?
 
the west end is cool i love it! sure the prs annoy me a bit but its theer job! theres a cute guy that prs at the bar umm cant member what its called but its nxt to the one pat sharp plays at and it has a pole (which i got filmed pole dancing in ooeeer!!) so thats a good thang!

hey frontliner,, margate that is worse than the westend(punch and judy) margate is a dump i know i live there, as well as san antonio. the westend is ok if your only on the island for a week any longer it gets too much.
 
totally agree!!!

after a while it is too much but ive had some good nights there is a good laught and is far better than margate !!!!!!!!!!!1

esc pinch caprice and franks only proper ravers go there
