Who are you voting for ???

TRUST?

THIS IS COMING FROM A MAN WHO PROMISED US A REFERENDUM ON THE EU TREATY/CONSTITUTION...

THIS IS THE MAN WHO TOOK AWAY THE 10P STARTING RATE OF TAX.

THIS IS THE MAN WHO HAD LED US INTO THE DEEPEST RECESSION (note use of word recession and not global financial credit crunchie).

THIS IS THE MAN WHO HAS LEFT US WITH THE BIGGEST BUDGET DEFICIT IN BRITISH HISTORY.

AND THIS IS THE MAN WHO LEAVES HIS WALLET AT HOME AND NEVER BUYS A ROUND (see link below)

You missed out the bit where he sold off half our gold reserves when it was at rock bottom prices. The man's an utter buffoon.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/...you-sold-Britains-gold-Gordon-Brown-told.html

"Between 1999 and 2002, Mr Brown ordered the sale of almost 400 tons of the gold reserves when the price was at a 20-year low. Since then, the price has more than quadrupled, meaning the decision cost taxpayers an estimated £7 billion, according to Mike Warburton of the accountants Grant Thornton.
It is understood that Mr Brown pushed ahead with the sale despite serious misgivings at the Bank of England. It is not thought that senior Bank experts were even consulted about the decision, which was driven through by a small group of senior Treasury aides close to Mr Brown",

I, like many people this time, I suspect, am going to vote Lib Dem. The wasted vote argument is a stupid one, if I am voting for the party I believe most represents my wishes, the vote aint wasted.

A vote is a precious thing, people died for us to get one, and still die going to vote in many countries around the world. Don't waste it

What he said, on both counts.

We were in Java when the Indonesians were voting last May. For a lot of them this was the first time they were living in a democracy and they could vote and they had to travel back to their birth place to vote - the whole country was literally on the move for a week because Indonesia in a big old country, but they took such pride in the fact they had this vote and they were prepared to travel for 2/3 days to place their vote.

Kids, don't waste it - I don't agree with any party 100% but as Russ said, there will be a party that mostly represents your wishes....and if it doesn't, then do something about it.

Hello btw ;)

Olly - brown and cameron lives are obviously influenced strongly by their child's death, possibly even in their position it remains a driving influence. So in a way, cameron is using it, but not as a sympathy vote, it just happens to be the most important thing that has ever happened to him.

Dan - post of the year. Easily.:lol:

Cameron : I was in Plymouth recently and, er, a 40-year-old black man actually made the point to me. He said: 'I came here when I was six, I've served in the Navy for 30 years, I'm incredibly proud of my country, but I'm so ashamed that we've had this out-of-control system with people abusing it so badly... Question: H...ow old was the dude in the story when he joined the navy?.

if you think any country on the planet wants to nuke the UK, you must be delusional

regimes like North Korea acquire nukes for prestige purposes and to make their leaders look strong in their people's eyes. Even at the height of the cold war, the Soviets had no intention of ever nuking the West. I studied East-West relations as part of my degree and the amount of invented propaganda the Americans came out with to justify their enormous defence industry was staggering.

FFWD to 21st century >> The Liberals are the only ones honest to admit that not only can we not afford Trident but we don't need it either. Other European countries (la gloire de la France apart) don't need them and don't have imperial hangups - so why do we?

Olly - its called a joke!

there was a serious subtext to your undeniably amusing picture which is what I commented on. It does not therefore equate that I didn't understand or was too thick to grasp the hilarity of your post. But seeing as the spirit of the thread is now satirical and humourous, then can somebody please put up that amazing picture of William Hague in the Mirror a few years ago which looked like he had antlers growing out of his head?

You did a module at uni?! Do a search on pollock and thatcher.

So long as there are nukes in the world I'd rather be on the team with em.

total bollox.

so because the UK has nukes, somewhere else is more likely to get attacked or living in luxembourg or ibiza or any country in europe without nukes is somehow more dangerous/risky??

If I take the 'team' to be Nato & being at least under it's umberella if not necessarily holding our own nukes.....

Ibiza & Lux have not been rendered by history as players in areas such as Israel etc. They are not potential targets as we are. Would Iran go for us if we stepped outside of Nato & gave our arms up? Probably not as the US would probably still step in - however i'd prefer to nail that risk down.

Given our history and place in the world I would rather be on the team with until the day of unilatereal disarmament.

Yours Paul Dacre.

+1

If the Us and Russia are talking about cutting back on their nukes why are we talking about replacing them?

Dare I say neither of you are addressing what I said?

No one disputes that nukes are bad. And that we should have less of them. And if we can convince the North Koreans & Iranians to cease development then great, lets all stick them on the moon.

However if a mentalist government has some & we are active in piss ing them off then it is probably for the best if we have them to. History has left us where we are.
