thanks guys, earliest we have been is June and tbh its always been my favourite month I can cope with a few light showers its just the thick over cast and dull all day that ya see a lot of the back end we have found , often nagged the ball and chain to do IMS but shes always been too para about the weather ..guess the lengthy lockdown this year has give me a few extra bullets cause she's down for it

what he says plus the odd windy day. sea temp obvs also still lower than in peak summer. but everything's so beautifully fresh

End of May / begin of june : Wonderful time for ibiza
Everything is open , not too hot , relaxed personell at the beach clubs , space at the beach ( not at weekends ) , sea 3cm cold , humidity ablittle lower.
Maybe one day rain. Most at the evenings or mornings
Same end of September. But here the sea is warmer.

I like May, you get a few decent openings like Mambos etc. It is warm and fresh in the daytime mostly, but does get chilly at night...I take jeans, missus complained about being cold last time.

thanks all! yeah we have always said June is our perfect time we normally aim to do the last two weeks and have never been let down with the weather, glad to see prior to that is promising too. I do check on Acc weather but ive found the info a little off sometimes ..excuse to get the Ryan Air vouchers used

yeah I've been a couple of times in May, and also early June...i agree that it is better than late September. First week of Sept is usually alright...

Mid /end of september the rain season begins with cloudy days and wind.
Sea is warm enough for swimming. If the sun comes out , its summer

People are really expecting far too much from this year.

Everyone needs to chill, accept it and anything else is a bonus. Its a temporary glitch and as far as Ibiza is concerned, one just needs to enjoy the simple things - Food, nice drinks, sun, mellow tunes.....if you have the opportunity to go.

The real challenge seems 2021 and beyond. What is now becoming clear is things are highly unlikely to be that much different through the first half of next year and possibly much much longer. There were some telling statements made at the UK’s Parliamentary Health and Social Care committee this week, which mainstream media has largely ignored. These included one of the lead Oxford professors who is working on one of the most promising vaccines stating that his vaccine will not eradicate covid nor will it even completely protect. Also the head of the influential Wellcome Trust stated that covid is compatible to an illness like polio, I.e. there are no quick fixes and it will be with us for years if not decades. Depressing stuff, but if anyone thinks that Amnesia will be packed next summer probably should watch the BBC iplayer Parliament channel’s replay. I’m surprised that this hasn’t had wider coverage, as if true is the clearest indication that come 1 Jan 2021, things aren’t going to magically return back to pre covid times.

I read that there is maybe no full protection with the vaccine. But maybe , the illness will be much lighter similar to lighter flu , for 99,5 % of the infected ( example ) That would be a big advantage. And then we maybe have a good threatment to give the infected a good chance to survive without damage. There is progress , I read.

I am not hoping for a substance next year , which removes this virus from earth.

You are right : Maybe we will see it a couple of years.

Politically, I guess that’ll be the debate around the corner whether stuff like clubbing can start up again when even those vaccinated could still get pretty sick but not necessarily need ICU types of care. Guess time will tell.

It seems like the globe is trending toward prevention of contagion... The Bahamas are the latest to close their borders; at least to travelers from the States. I don't know how they feel about other places. Now I don't think this is a reflection on our (U.S.'s) current administration's decidedly xenophobic attitude, but I admit I wondered for a split second if it wasn't... No, I think the Bahamas loves their tourism revenue just as Ibiza or any other tourism-driven economy does. They just don't want the people to get sick and die. And it's totally understandable.

It looks like our travel aspirations will have to wait until we can figure out masks and social distancing...

We have to define pretty sick ...
If there is a threathment or vaccine which
reduces it to a flu , clubbing can start immediately. For some people a flu is dangerous , but we cannot protect everyone against everything. We are using cars and planes ...
Ok , maybe its not so easy : Gets trouble if the tourists come back from Ibz with illness.

Maybe we have to use masks and social distancing at public places , trains , planes to protect the older and weaker for a long time.
And go to amnesia nevertheless ...

There was a so-called expert scientist on the UK news last night saying we were going to have to live with this virus 'for years'! So where do you draw the line? We can never go clubbing again? have no crowds at sport? nah, we have to let the individual make the decision for themselves...

There are a lot of people who work on vaccines , drugs , treathments and so on.
We will see results. But no perfect results , maybe. That means : We will have to live with it for a longer time. With a reduced risk

personally I could't care less about a burger king franchise but anyway.

I was thinking more along the lines of the Burger King being a more well known place for a lot of people that visit Ibiza, and it not being open as a reflection of the current situation facing the other less well known smaller businesses this summer.

To be fair though it was a pretty rubbish Burger King, everytime I've been through they’ve ran out of whatever it is I’ve wanted ?
