Is anyone else getting a tad confused with the messages around what’s going to be open?
I may be wrong but as I Understand it, the music bars are only allowed to open outside on a terrace with a capacity of 300, but that has to be reduced to 33%, so in effect 100 people. To stop people dancing places like O beach/ Ibiza Rocks will put tables on the dance floor. What Stivi said was that this would be reviewed every 2 weeks and controls to be reduced or tightened depending on what the virus is doing. So in effect the same as what the UK has been doing (Uk- Doing it every 3 weeks). So surely as part of this review, they would look at relaxing restrictions. There are various they could do e.g-
People on terrace to gradually scale up
Up to 100% capacity
Decrease the 2 metre ruling- Only Spain, the UK and Canada has 2 metre in place. Follow WHO advice and go to 1 metre
Open air events only.
At events- Screens at bars, no cash accepted, staff in masks etc.
The danger is that all I am reading in the UK is ‘Ibiza closed’ type press releases, saying that the ‘clubs’ won’t open. But surely other events/parties may open, just not in the clubs. If this is true the People in charge need to get this message out as a lot of people will just think fu*k it, Ibiza closed for 2020, I’ll make alternative plans, where this may not be the case. A very small example is that I am meant to be on a 20 person stag party in August for3 days, that would be what to the economy £40-50K, not a huge amount of cash but Times that by the amount of people that may cancel When they don’t need too = a lot of jobs lost!, I am trying to tell every1 not to cancel as things may be going on but people don’t really believe me! Sorry Rant over!
