I am unsure how these clubs will survive going a full season of not opening,

There will certainly be room for new owners to come as we do live in a capitalist World. Once one empire falls another begins,,,

So with the big clubs potentially not opening how many on here will still go to Ibiza if allowed too this year?

Personally i haven't bothered with the big clubs for years and much prefer a smaller more intimate venue. One in particular springs to mind.

Having gone in October for the last few years i have much preferred less crowds and quieter roads and especially quieter beaches.

I suppose you have got to ask yourselves was it Ibiza i loved or actually just clubbing...... Its the former for me..
I love both...but clubbing for me in ibiza is amazing at the right night... I will miss the big clubs being open

u may dance around your table that separate people in order to have social distancing ? Don't think about people dancing side to side except with your mates.
no boat parties, float your boat advertise only their boat trip. can't setup social distancing in a boat party when the boat is shaky and drunk people ?
yeah without the parties it will be hard for solo people to meet random at places if no contacts are allowed (i won't shake hands to mates, breaking social distancing only in restaurants bars and car with mates ) if u r solo i can add u to my whatsapp group (Pm, i'll send the link,) as still some people until aug 10th
Normally boat parties at PDB will start in July (Ocean Beat & Cirque de la nuit)

I’ve Been following this forum all year, it’s almost my part time job, so I had to give my opinion.

IMHO what I think will happen is that None of the ‘clubs’ will open. The difficult question is what is defined as a ‘club’? What I think will happen though is that small promoters will take over Bora Bora/Blue Marlin/Cova Santa etc or any suitable Outdoor space that 200-300 people can party (with space) minimal equipment and a local DJ. I would imagine that the 2 metre guidance will be relaxed to 1 metre and punters will take their own risk. I’ve been going to Ibiza for the last 15 years and most of the people that I see are not the risk adverse sort of people! If you are the sort to ingest a variety of substances, stay up all night, then I think you will ‘take a risk’. This pandemic has been crazy and a lot can change in 4- 6 weeks! I think there will be some form of season September- October. I think it is a great opportunity for the island to go back in time- No more big DJ’s charging crazy money for sets. local talent in small intimate venues, much more to my liking anyway. For reference I’m staying at Pikes for 3 nights, mid September as I figure that even if other events aren’t on, I can have a great time at that wonderful hotel!

ciao!

Anyone see the footage of a club in Amsterdam which opened for a sit down ‘rave’? It looked absolute dogs sh!t  sat on a chair on a dancefloor. Bizzare
Yeah I posted this a few pages back or in another thread, but the rules in the Netherlands are crazy.
Clubs can not open so they created a workaround where you can sit down like it's a cafe or restaurant.

However concerthalls can open for 30 people now and 100 people from the 1st of July. Now they are creating a whole different kind of workaround by booking dj's so there's dancing there while people in the actual clubs need to sit down.

This was gonna be what I was gonna ask.

Will we see the west end open as usual because of small capacities and San Antonio running almost as normal without Eden/Es Paradis? Or will they be really strict, even by the end of summer on capacity limits and what is defined as a club?

Also is there still no official government comment yet? The BBC article is a story based on the local news yesterday that had no quotes that said clubs wouldn't open this year.

Released today.....

Balearic Government to permit music bars, cafe conciertos and clubs ,whose authorised capacity does not exceed 300 people to reopen from next Monday, but with no dancing, as the dancefloor must be used for tables & chairs only

Just because a few experts say that it does not mean that's a 100 percent fact... If one person has the virus at a festival it can still be passed onto other people...

Let's see how the other festivals get on with it

Ushuaia probably did not want to take the risk.. Better safe than sorry

Wouldn't look good if they had an outbreak at one of their nights

And being at a festival/club is different from being at a protest. Even the small differences in the ways people interact could have an effect on virus transmission.
