I think it's just following due process. Cancel now = their decision. Wait for the authorities to cancel = out of their hands

It's the same principle as waiting for your flights to be pulled. Back out before they get pulled officially and you're just throwing away money. Wait until that decision is made for you, and you're covered

Sure, but there needs to be a sensible approach to this as they’re the ‘airline’ in this scenario. Perhaps it is an insurance issue but more than most promoters CO rely on a community following of goodwill to support them. I see they’ve deleted at least one comment telling them to get a grip,

Sure, but as we have seen even airlines are only grounding so far ahead and they are also waiting on the authorities to dictate

CO did earlier assure all their customers that their purchases were secure and fully refundable and I reckon they will be dream compared to others when it comes to getting your money back

so my super early break 29/04 , 4 night break has been cancelled , id bought tickets for lovin Ibiza - amnesia , I msged them for a refund , Currently we have no cancelations in place and all our events are going to run....I best set off walking now I have a few miles to swim and walk to get there lol ...any way I'm seriously considering a 4 nighter starting 05/10/20 thoughts .....

they are simply waiting for the government to cancel all events. it'll happen soon

Unless a miracle happens (that is, a therapy that will eliminate nearly all covid-19 deaths and can be administered en masse), I think there will be no 2020 season. Because the only means against the virus we have right now is avoiding social contacts, thus lowering the spreading rate. Even if the number of infected people drops like by 10x by July-September, resuming travel and parties will simply restart the epidemic with the same disasterous results.

If such a miracle does happen and a good therapy becomes available, a season start in August-September could be possible.

If that is true for Ibiza holidays, that would be true for any scale activity (factory, office, agriculture, etc.) on a national level, anywhere....

My prediction is that the pain will be too great and some countries ( lookin' at China/ Wuhan today) will just say "fcuk it" and let people loose to go back to work before a therapy or vaccine is available. Your nation's pain threshold may vary...

Sept/Oct 2020 will be six full months of lock-down in Ibiza, but really 18 months of inactivity, as season closed in October 2019 and will not officially restart until May 2021 :(.

My nation (Germany) allows people to go to work, there is no hard lockdown here. And so will Spain eventually.

But bars and clubs are closed and tourism is forbidden, since all this is viewed as non-essential activities that favor the spread of the virus. So simply "going back to work" is not enough to restart the Ibiza season - you need to reopen mass entertainment and resume tourism, and this will take time.

So the problem is not just reopening the economy in general, but that things that make an Ibiza season will be the last ones to reopen, and that they are likely to stay closed for a long time after the general lockdown gets lifted.

IMO it'll very much depend on the exact point of when the borders reopen.

if we somehow get a bit of a summer season (from whenever that point may be), then I'm sure that everyone will make an effort to prolong the season throughout autumn, some even say up to xmas/nye in some form.

but if the reopening of international borders happens too late in the year, then I can't see any of this happening and think the international airlines will only take up their flights to the balearics again in springtime 2021. easter week next year is right at the start of april so what I could certainly see is having an extra long season next year.

happy to be proven wrong on this but it's my current take on things.

Only time will tell. I must admit. The thought of high season being in November does interest me. Although winter as it is now is my favourite time to visit the island.

I cannot see november being 'high season' ever.

what I can see is more hotels staying open, more restaurants staying open and some of the clubs maybe staying open in some form on weekend nights etc - all of this maybe up to xmas/nye. so it'll maybe be a bigger off-season than what we used to have, but I truly can't see it ever being comparable to what we normally have in summer.

Thats it. Ibiza as in the 70s .
Hippies only . Would be nice for me ...

I was only saying to the missus last night that I wonder if the season will move into the autumn this year. Think my phone heard me as I woke up to this article this morning. Thought's?

Flights from Scandinavia are wery expensive in summer and even more expensive in winter time. I've paid at Christmas and New Years eve 2018-19, 10.200 Swedish crownes (900+) euros for 2. Always 2 flights and 2 suitcases.☹ Stockholm-Barcelona-Ibiza down, and Ibiza-Amsterdam-Stockholm back.
