What's going to happen to SPACE after 2016?

Not suggesting that, just dont think there will be a Space Ibiza after next year.

Realistically with all the bureaucracy and politics on the island its going to take A LOOOOT of money to make something new happen. Pepe Rossello is an old man now, is he going to want to gamble big or cash in his chips and enjoy his retirement? Its not as simple as just "build something amazing on the beach"...
 
Perhaps I'm wide of the mark with this, but didn't the authorities state - in the wake of the debacle that was Booom - that no more disco licenses would be granted. Or was that just in relation to the Ibiza municipality??

I dunno. If David Vincent can do it with Sankeys.....Pepe, Carl Cox and the many investors that would come out of the woodwork can make it happen.
 
There have been many chips broken off the ibiza foundations in recent years (roof on terrace, opening hours etc) but space closing is a massive chunk braking off. I do feel now that in years to come the island will be a commercial teen holiday resort all together.

Part of me would like space to have a go in Eden, but mainly because I feel a credible night in San antonio would be good for the island. But it will never be the same as old space, and extremely unlikely to be better or as good.
I would hate to see space open up elsewhere and then fail, and likely get taken over again by something commercial.

I think we all just can't come to terms with it and want to believe space can work elsewhere, realistically though, it probably would be best if pepe bows out on top after next year.
 
As much as I love Space, it has never been the same since the 2007 season, the change in opening hours lost a lot of Space's magic for me, also the 2005 season when I first saw the tin roof... things change and it could never stay the way it was in the late 90's early 2000's but my god it was good while it lasted!
 
Still raging at myself for passing up 2004 closing before they put the roof on that winter. Nowadays I'd just go (numerous other incidents of waiting for mates has taught me that) but mate i was there with at the time had a rough one at amnesia closing the night before so we just took it easy. Have always regretted not seeing it as it was.

Yeah, so special. I've had some amazing time in Ibiza after all that, but nothing will ever match Sunday afternoon on terrace. Life-changing. I'm glad there weren't camera phones everywhere, but I do wish I had a couple of photos from one of those afternoons.

Diesel t-shirts all the time. I had loads of Diesel t-shirts. In London, I'd normally leave afterparties on Sunday morning, decide I stank and go to Diesel in Covent Garden and buy a new t-shirt. They then got promoted into my Space wardrobe:lol:.

Funny enough I remember my mate Sachin and I, sat in Bar M having our traditional pre-Space mohitos and discussing how hot we were and how it was a shame we couldn't wear shorts:spank::lol:
