Weekend Plans

Not sure I need to post details here any more, now being the most predictable man on the planet.

Friday: Kids Arsenal session predeced by pizza

Saturday: Take kids to pick up my sister and see my folks. Looking to go 4 wins from 4 in my footy match in afternoon. Struggling with whether to start myself, as football is leaving my too tight for signifcant training for The Royal Parks Half Marathon, which is next Sunday (!). Might try and squeeze a physio appointment today to tomorrow to try and get loosened up.

Sunday: Youngest's first competitive rugby game(s)* of the season. Hoping the fleece-lined base layers and dubbin for his boots I've got for him this week will see off the 'wet feet and freezing' complaints from last Sunday's training.

*We host a season-opening rugby 'festival' where they play games against 4 visiting opponents.

Sunday afternoon: Interesting afternoon's footy: expect Villa to put Man U to the sword - the end of Ten Haag? Be good for drama, as long as Arsenal get an expected win at Southampton - don't want Villa (or anyone else, creeping up on us). Hoping Brighton can improve on their win and 2 draws over the last 3 games, for the LoLs of resurgent Spurs being deflated again:lol:

This weekend I will mainly be catching up on sleep 😂 But also meant to be going for Sunday lunch with my friends, if they can decide what time they want to go that is……

It’s my last in person weekend for my 3 year Masters.

Just the three essays to do before Christmas and then a mega dissertation in the new year.

Hopefully it’ll all be worth it to wear the silly hat and gown in July and then never open a textbook again
Best of luck! Get those essays done at the earliest available opportunity. Don't be needing to beg for (frankly unwarranted) deadline extensions*, and be able to relax over Xmas.

*There is no reason I raise this, I don't have any experience of such faffery, and anyone claiming I do will find themselves in hot water, right!??!

One of them is unfortunately a roll over from May after my other half had her diagnosis, so will be cramming it all in before my 40th at the start of Dec

Far more legitimate than my 'personal problems'* extension in Manchester in the early '90s.

*working 7 nights a week in a bar and going out every night after work

Hope you are are both doing best as can be with that mate.

Cheers dears. Recovery is well under way, improvements every day and a nice break down in the Devon next week which will help things along

Not sure what I'll actually do this weekend, been under the weather all week and in bed since yesterday evening.
Had a good weekend lined up

Sat - son's under 7 game at 10am. Derby game against Preston at 12:30. Mrs wants to test drive a car in afternoon. Blackpool for the final firework competition with gish n chips.

Sun - 12 mile walk for a lads 40th, pub stops en route, ending in Hebden Bridge which has many pubs.

Final trip of the year to Ibiza this weekend and decided to skip the big clubs in the end and take it easier.

Was at Tanit opening with Melon Bomb back in March so seems fitting to do the closing.

Also got a good deal on Gran Sol in San An so, while we have a room booked in Ibiza Town, we will bus it across and use the pool, eat in Golden Buddha, catch a sunset then head up to Pikes on the Monday. Works out just a bit more than a taxi back across after Pikes so happy to have double booked rooms on both side of the island.

Bar that will see how we feel, if the weather allows then ferry to Formentera. And see where the bus takes us.

And how was The Wizard?

Ye decent (from what I remember lol)...it was a little subdued when he first came on as most of the younger crowd went into the depot for Peggy Gou whose set started at same time, but that left a pretty hardcore crowd with not a phone in sight all purely there for Jeff. The Concourse is a superb room, very similar to what The Hacienda was like.
Back in Nov for Paradise then the big one in Dec...Hacienda/Orbital et al 🙌

Almost the weekend for me, as I'm off work on Friday to go to a funeral. (No-one close, a former headmaster of from my school. He was a teacher when I was there, but never taught me, but I go to such things to represent my footy club, the old boys of the school.)

Friday: pizza and Arsenal with the kids.

Saturday: Take the kids to my folks in morning. Footy game in the afternoon, hoping to make it 5 wins in 5. Quandary: play or don't play.

Sunday: Quandary part 2: run or don't run. Booked for Royal Parks Half Marathon, but football has stopped me training. I've been playing 90 mins every Saturday, then been tight all over until footy training Tuesday, and then tight again until Friday. Email came yesterday saying you can defer place......

Quandary over, deferred until next year, playing on Saturday...

E2A: which aslo means rugby with kids on Sunday:)
