Might do an Alicante/Valencia double bill in May, flying to Alicante and train to Valencia. Any tips from folk who have been recently? How many nights to spend in each? I can be away for a week, plus/minus a couple of days.
Question: Is the Ruzafa area still lively around midnight? My impression from my several weekend visits to Valencia so far has been that it's a city that goes to bed early. I mean, the subway stops running like at 11pm. No problem for me (it's just a different kind of a destination), but having bars that stay open past midnight where I am not the only customer would be a plus.Valencia is well worth your time. Aim to stay in Ruzafa area for the bars. The river's really nice too
Ah, I do like Alicante. https://www.grupoalmadelsur.es/en/carta/ for all your deep fried fish in a cone needs!I'm all booked for Alicante at the end of May. Think I'm just going to do some day trips from there rather than go to Valencia.
Ah, I remember when those boards were 80c a pop and a caña was 90c…..I like D'Tablas in Alicante. No need to think and order in advance, they constantly bring out trays with small tapas and you grab what you want. At the end, you pay based on how many empty plates/boards are on your table, like at a conveyor sushi bar.
Now who doesn't like Alicante?![]()
Blimey, a caña is still 90c! https://maps.app.goo.gl/giEVCebUAHS1pnn8AAh, I remember when those boards were 80c a pop and a caña was 90c…..
