Might do an Alicante/Valencia double bill in May, flying to Alicante and train to Valencia. Any tips from folk who have been recently? How many nights to spend in each? I can be away for a week, plus/minus a couple of days.

Valencia is well worth your time. Aim to stay in Ruzafa area for the bars. The river's really nice too

I'd definitely second staying in Rufaza. Last time I went, I stayed in an apartment hotel called Soho last time. Really nice roomx at a reasonable price and a great location.

Lucky to have lived in Valencia for a bit. Rufaza is brilliant. Arts and Science area is pretty cool as well. Would recommend

Question: Is the Ruzafa area still lively around midnight? My impression from my several weekend visits to Valencia so far has been that it's a city that goes to bed early. I mean, the subway stops running like at 11pm. No problem for me (it's just a different kind of a destination), but having bars that stay open past midnight where I am not the only customer would be a plus.

I am talking low season (November-March) - Valencia is a winter destination for me.
