(Mourinho still won't shut up about that, will he?)

he doesnt shut up about many things... did you hear his interview on Sky?

something like "if we play Barca in the semi's i hope we finish the game with 11 men because I always end up with 10"

oh boy.. the end of april could kill me off with all these classico's.

still one game at a time.. Shaktar wont be easy.

In the other game i think Torres might burst into life..

Good old Joey Barton in the independent...
He writes: "Barton has won just one England cap, against Spain in 2007. His often controversial career was put on hold as he served a prison sentence the following year, yet the 28-year-old appears to have rediscovered his best form and is convinced he has a role to play in Fabio Capello's team."
He quotes Barton, via the mag: "Honestly, I think I'm the best [English midfielder]. Luka Modric and Samir Nasri are very good, but in terms of English players... well, Jack Wilshere isn't bad, but Frank Lampard's on the way down and Steven Gerrard's been injured a lot."

Joey Barton, winning hearts and minds since 2008......

your team used to win it on occasion but now it's probably a distant memory ;)

Jam, I dont think John saw this game live did he, he must have watched the tapes as it was before he started to support soccerball.

I hope so... it's about time!

Re Torres. As a sincere follower of the beloved game, and ofcourse a Liverpool fan, it honestly breaks my heart to see Torres struggling. It really does. it was only 18 months 2 years ago that he was arguably one of the most feared strikers in world football. And now he looks, well he looks below average and completely disinterested. Watching him get the yellow card for diving in the final minutes and get a rollicking of Ferdinand wasnt very pleasant to say the least. I just hope he finds form again and becomes the force that he once was.

I am obviously talking a load of bollox. Nothing makes me happier !!

Bugger....

Injury-hit Steven Gerrard out for rest of season

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has been ruled out for the rest of the season through injury.
The England midfielder returned to training a week ago after a groin operation in early March but sustained a similar problem last Friday.
The 30-year-old has spent the week undergoing assessment and manager Kenny Dalglish confirmed the worst at the club's Melwood training ground.
"We still don't know definitively what the problem is," Dalglish said.
"We will wait to get a precise answer from the people that he has to see but he won't be involved again this season."

He does a well with his USA teams and he does not have a cash flow problem. This could mean some transfers this summer ie.. a good keeper and a veteran central defender which I think is sorely needed. I like Jens but to trot him out as your keeper is not a great thing. The club could use looser purse strings I think.

Isn't it Wengers choice not to buy though?

You keep hearing he's got money available but doesn't want to spend it.

If he doesn't win anything this year I got the feeling he'll have to change his views

Yes that is true, but I think he was erring on the side of caution because of Arsenals debt. I don't know but with a new owner and some cash flow he may spend more in the transfer window.

Cracking result for liverpool today. Excellent debut for young Flanagan & good to see Spearing looking solid too.
Its a shame we only seem to be able to perform against the big teams!
