"Quick, distract from out appauling transfer record...Bring out the Chris Sutton argument" :lol:

Nothing to do with that, with transfers you win some you lose some (I distinctly remember Lampard's transfer being ridiculed during his first season with us £8M I think he cost us)... Just pointing out that if we're basing these things on value for money the Sutton deal was worse but no-one makes a big deal of that one (and he was a proven premiership goalscorer)...

Terry is getting the england armband back8O I guess all is forgiven?

Capello is the biggest joke of an England manager since Graham Taylor. He seems completely unaware of how his actions will be received by the media and consequently the public. It seems he has now taken away Ferdinand's captaincy without even mentioning it to the man! £6.5m a year he gets paid to constantly **** things up!

The public is one thing but the media has actually been a little split on the issue. You've got prominent columnists like Martin Samuels at the Mail who have been backing the idea, while people like Matt Dickinson at the Times have been slamming it.

All of your senior players are flawed in some way (Rio - drugs, Rooney - grannies, Gerard - thug, etc.) so it's hard to take a moral high ground. For all his flaws off the pitch, Terry's still your best leader on it. That's how people outside England will see it. Problem is, inside England he'll always be damaged goods to anyone who is not a Chelsea supporter.

The only ones who gives the impression of not being an unsmiling, grim behaving tool can not be guaranteed a place in the team.

It does appear that ferdinand is crocked - perhaps terminally, gerrard is out, rooney is years away from ever being mature enough, lampard has too many weight issues...you can go on.

The obvious is terry unfortunately, but capello cocked up the media element big time (again) - this should not be a big issue.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

What's that all about!?

Gattuso and Ibrahimovic looked like themselves. Some kind of promotional action?

Edit: ah... that explains it
As AC Milan prepared to take on Bari in Serie A, one of the most bizarre spectacles ever seen on a football pitch played out in front of a packed stadium for Gazzetta dello Sport. The spoof warm up was used to promote the Italian league in the newspaper.

I dont want Real or Shaktar.. ok with the rest.

Chelsea would be good to relive the old banter on here from 2 years ago with Morbyd and Matt ;)
Ha ha... WE MUST BREAK YOU (said in thick Scandinavian-cum-Russian accent)

I'm actually hoping for Shakhtar, realizing that it wouldn't be an easy ride but thinking of cheap plane tickets to Donetsk. :lol: Schalke would probably be the best draw (might be some low-cost tix to Dusseldorf too so also a possible European match trip :D).
