The footy !!

Morbs - are you over for the West Ham game? I'm away sadly if you are. My mate is running a boat to the match with DJ and all the trimmimgs. You could have come on board but without a chaparon(spelling?) it may not advisable.

Anyway that was a irrelevant post if there was one. As you were.

Roger Irrelevant.

Entirely possible, mate, but I won't know for a while. Will let you know when I do!

Village club president suspended over Messi bid

The president of a village team in France has been suspended for six months for trying to sign Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi.

Cedric Enjolras, the president of FC Borne, who play in the second division of the Haute-Loire district league and represent a village of just 400 people, hatched the plan over what was said to be a "well-oiled" dinner with friends.

He then submitted a formal transfer offer for Messi with the French Football Federation and asked them to forward it on to the Spanish champions and the Spanish Football Federation.

However, the FFF did not see the humour in the stunt and after two separate disciplinary hearings, they decided to suspend Enjolras for six months.

"We cannot accept such behaviour," said Yves Begon, who is the chairman of France's transfer committee.

"It may be a joke but we are there to judge and deal with legitimate transfers."

Enjolras replied by saying he was disappointed the FFF did not have more of a sense of humour about the incident.

"It's unfortunate that they have decided to punish my club," he said.

Messi, who earns an estimated £180,000-a-week, played a starring role as Barcelona knocked Ars*nal out of the Champions League on Tuesday night.

chelsea qpr rivalry? do me a favour. it's like the chelsea fulham rivalry - non-existent to chelsea fans!

there will be trouble between the fans, as there was after the carling cup and the friendly when you beat us, but it's not a 'rivalry' for chelsea!

i'd say spurs is the biggest rivalry for chelsea in london. and so would everyone i know at chelsea or who is involved with chelsea.

you go anywhere with chelsea and i promise you you will hear 'we hate tottenham' being sung at least 50 times. i've never heard 'we hate rangers'.

and take the liverpool and united games. chelsea season tickets being sold for £300 a pair, £500 for man united. you'd get face value for qpr at home, i guarantee you! whether it's plastics buying the tickets or not, that's - unfortunately - the demographic of chelsea fans these days and that's where the real rivalries are.

on the flip side, a few of us have already been speaking about the qpr away game potentially next season and i'm looking forward to it. as will a lot chelsea old boys no doubt but all for different reasons.

good luck for the rest for the season and let's ALL in london laugh at arsenal staring down the barrel of another pointless, potless season.

Always cracks me up how people bleat on about Sheva being a waste of money and no one EVER mentions £10M Chris Sutton. For the record he scored 1 goal (albeit against Man Utd) if we're talking value for money you'd think people might bring him up instead.

Shevchenko came with a record of previous success though. His form dropped dramatically once he went to Stamford Bridge.

Sutton had banged a few in for Blackburn but no major international / European honours so was much less known....

....plus Shevchenko was much more recent and in the height of the Abramovich "Land-Grab".

;)

In Sheva's defense, he was never 100% fit for most of the time he was with us. Back and hip problems, among other niggles. At least, that's what he told me. Seems to be doing better now at Kiev!
