The footy !!

no, he shouldn't have been sent off

yes, messi should have had a penalty

unlucky Busquets -- briefly shat myself there. all came good in the end though.

fair result? yes probably.

Probably a fair result. Barca were all up in the Arse.

But the sending off definitely put an asterisk next to the victory.

Wasn't much of a game to watch, to be honest.

Dont agree.......... nothing fair about the way Barcelona always come out the right side of dodgy refereeing decisions. Overacting to get players sent off is not fair either. Barca have the best players so why the need for the theatrics..........

UEFA love to see Barca progress in the Champions, much to the detriment of English teams.

Chelsea twice now and Arsenal last night..........more than a coincidence.

give over - messi was denied a fair penalty and arsenal didn't have a single shot on target in the entire match. busquets OG was totally against the run of play - Barca looked much better than in the first leg despite having a makeshift defence

and don't regurgitate all those crackpot chelsea conspiracy theories again yawn zzzz

Messi didnt get the penalty because he made it look worse by adding the theatrics.
I agree it was a pen but Chelsea had more obvious claims not given against Barca.

Im not going to drag up old conspiracy theories, but the facts are UEFA and Sep Blatter for whatever reason, have a dislike for English football....the World cup voting issue just adds fuel to the fire.

Barca had countless opportunities to kill the match against a 10 man team at home and could have lost it at the death if Bentner had connected

Youve got the best players in the world, with UEFA and the referees on your side.........with a little luck you might win the Final this year.

The sending off of VP was horrible, no way should he have been sent off. I am an Arsenal fan and Barca had the ball and controled the match. Little possession and no shots on goal will not win a match. Almunia stopped a bunch of goals he had a great performance to keep the match close.

Wrong again!

Messi was fouled. It was a clearcut penalty.

you're not going to drag up old conspiracy theories and then you do precisely that

FIFA hating England - hmm, I think it was more to do with a fairly mediocre bid fronted by an ageing overrated footballer who can barely speak English.

Fact: The red card changed the game. Messi's penalaty claim didnt. Sometimes they are given other times they are not. (hense my reference to Chelsea pen claims)

Arsenal went out with a gameplan and it was working quiet well.

Barca realised this and started the disrupting theatrics that led to the red card. Something that Barca are good at........

It was a very, very soft sending off that influenced the result of the game.........Fact.

You can try and divert all the attention away to the messi penalty decision, but at the end of the day it was the red card incident that was the pivotal moment of the tie...... and who benefited most from that dodgy decision?

I am so fed up with my beloved arsenal coming up short time and time again, there was only one person to blame for last nights performance and that is mr wenger.
How thomas rosciky has the audacity to collect a wage after a his recent performances is beyond me.

I f van persie hadn't been a silly boy and got the stupid yellow card earlier in the game then the second booking wouldn't have mattered.

And it is arsenals own fault that they ended up playing barca anyhow, they had the group sewn up and let it slip away to braga and shaktar so ended up coming second and shaktar won the group and drew roma.

tut tut tut, West London's 4th best team in a spot of bother....

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

You knew I'd comment on this :-)

Matt get your facts right QPR are the only team in West london

QPR W12
Chelscum and Fulham are SW
Brentford is TW

The only one west is W12 - its amazing how the papers go over the top, he was legible to play just they ****ed up the paperwork. People comparing to Tevez situation but its totally diffrent. All this talk about point penaltys etc. Be a fine at worst.

We still top of the league and 7 points clear - look forward to spanking you at the Bridge (South West London)

Chelscum and Fulham are SW
It's so cute how you're always slagging off Chelsea, Dave.
It's as if you think QPR are our rivals or something
Even if you hold on and win the "league" (a.k.a. Championship), it'll be straight back down in a year's time. Do you really need the heartbreak?

love this quote. Maybe it didnt change the game because it wasn't given?

Anyway.. well done Spurs, quite possibly the two worst days possible for Arsenal fans.

I want Schalke next!

Indeed!

I want Shakhtar next... cheap to fly to Donetsk from here :D

Oh John, i can sense 2 things jealousy and Plastic.

Jealous that are owners are wealthier and actualy when Vijay Mallya comes on board in the summer ( after buying Bernies and Bratorie's shares) Joins the Mittals we will have the financial clout to compete. I dont think relegation would be a possability there will be worse teams than us once we set up our stool ( Newcastle are doing ok, even blackpool m ay survive)

Plastic - If you was a supporter beyond the glory days (choke) you would know that even in my life time we have been rivals particulary a specific 6-1 Victory to QPR but throughoout the years (pre Glory days) we were always fierce Rivals. EG you can tell Matt is a proper suppporter ie saying the 4th best team in West London that proves that the rilvary is there on his part.

John your a decent bloke but dont fool yourself that Chelsea are a MIGHTY FORCE they are just a poxy team in south west london with the majority being fake glory hunting fans that know nothing about the history.

Supporters like Matt you gotta respect im sure hes probably been supporting pre glory days so he would be excluded from my rant.

:-)

I am well aware of the past, Fronty, but that's a long time ago. We US fought Japan in WW II but I'd hardly call them a rival now  I think you can agree with that no matter if you're made of plastic, steel or carbon fiber

As for jealousy about your rich owners, sorry mate but that's got to be the stupidest thing I've heard! There is only so much money you can throw at a football team. They could be worth 10 billion or 100 billion but even the most expensive player in the league cost 50 million - small change either way. Judging by that assertion, I'd already be jealous of Man City when in reality I couldn't give a rat's!

I stand corrected, had forgotten Fulham :oops:, QPR are below Hanwell Town as well they're W7 by the way... ;)

Make that 5th best team in West (south or otherwise the fact that Brentford has a Twickenham postcode is irrelevent by the way) London.

and for the record even 'pre glory' days there was never any real rivalry between us and you, only you and us

might have been different elsewhere, but where I grew up - in west london in the early 80s, at my school, there were ONLY 3 teams you supported - namely Liverpool, Spurs and QPR - honestly don't remember anyone following Brentford, Chelsea or Fulham - if I was to go back there now, it might be a different story ??
