The footy !!

In any case, I don't think JT did anything wrong because, tactically, every time a fullback leaves a hole, it is the job of the centre back to fill it...

Can't get over this shock the country has that a footballer sleeps around... Getting all a little tired now

MEN is the most appalling newspaper I have ever read.

As an aside going to Rio ferdinand's restaurant tonight. God only knows what I am letting myself in for - Cheshire WAG hell on earth no doubt!

do you mean the new one at the top of King street??...do they really need bouncers on the door at an italian restaurant?!

What gets me the most is if england go on to win the world cup and john terry doesn't resign the timeless image we all know of bobby moore being held on the teams shoulder whilst holdint the jules rimet, will be replaced with an image of him holding the trophy

Thats another point to consider. The England team are playing solid football at the moment and for once are playing together as a team. To disrupt the current set up would only hinder England's chances of a good run in this years World Cup.

Resigning at this stage would not help.

If England do not win its almost certain that Terry will be blamed and then he will resign. Hes an ideal scapegoat for the Tabloid press if things go wrong.

At least it may draw attention away from the team..........

Blah blah blah

Ian McGarry in the Sun for once in his feeble life wrote a decent commentary today. He spoke to 19 England internationals and 14 of them wanted Terry to stay as captain.

This national outrage, manufactured by the tabloids as revenge for being gagged for 2 weeks, will eventually blow over and he'll still be your best leader on the pitch where being captain actually means something.

Can't get over this shock the country has that a footballer sleeps around... Getting all a little tired now

Well ofcourse you two will back him, you're not exactly going to slate your club captain are you

I can honestly say if it was Gerrard I'd feel exactly the same. We are talking about the Captain of England, children up and down the country idolise him, how can he be a good role model (previous aside) :? . And then how can the he have the backing of the most of his team mates when he's banged a team mates missus, and he was a supposed good friend. The man is vile, and i hope to read later he is no longer captain :p

But that's where you're wrong.

In this case, if it were Gerrard, I would back him!

Kid's idolize the England captain? Come on! I'd bet the farm they don't idolize the captain any more than any other player, especially ones from their favorite club. By that logic, you'd have to drop half your team  A drug cheat, a bar brawler, a striker who sleeps with prostitutes, etc, etc...

At least the newspapers have started to calm down a bit. Some (finally!) well-reasoned articles in the Times and Indy today.

But thats were we disagree, in this case you would back either, where as I wouldnt ;)

I think the witchhunt by the tabloids was out of order, they are horrid. But you'd think if the guy had half a brain (and he obviously hasnt), after his Dad getting caught, and himself just a few weeks ago (takin bungs for training ground tours), he would have been a bit more careful

I agree with Liam on this.

The media are being ridiculous, but the fact remains:

Shagging his teammates missus totally compromises his ability to lead the team.

If you need to acid test this belief, could you continue to work with your boss if he'd shagged your missus?

You'd struggle to find half a brain among several footballers, much less just one

It's a good thing that football skill is apparently housed in a different lobe from other brain functions

A teammate's ex girlfriend. Only slightly less dramatic, but a point nonetheless.

If you believe the tabs, Bridge started dating her after her affairs with some other Chelsea players. Is there a difference here? (aside from the fact that Terry's married, which few of the people throwing stones about are really morally qualified to do...)

And I'd refer back to that informal off-the-record poll by a Sun reporter where 15 of 19 players said yes, they'd like Terry to stay. So his ability to lead apparently not significantly affected... Most of these guys are sleeping around too!

Terry is a massive cnut for doing this, thats academic, as is any married guy that shags his best mates ex missus!

that apart, what happens off the field shouldnt really affect what happens on it unless hes doing something illegal as lets face it thats different to immoral.
also having seen bridges ex missus, hello?? shes a sort, i definately would.

providing:
a: i wasn't married
b: i wasnt wayne bridges best mate ;)

You of all people cant seriously believe that 15 of the England (senior) suad members would risk doing an informal poll by the Sun, come on john

To a degree I agree, BUT should we have as our captain (in probably our best shot at the world cup for a long time) a lowlife cheeting excuse for a human being, in world cup year. Imagin how his long suffering wife must feel :!:

I know most have been heard before but i just got this email :-

JT has signed up to star in a new TV show. It's called Other Footballers' Wives.

Ashley Cole was caught doing 104mph in a 50mph zone. When questioned by police as to why he was speeding, he said: "l've just heard JT is parked outside my house!"

England manager Fabio Capello phoned Wayne Bridge and said: "JT's lost the captain's armband. Can you do me a favour and have a good look under your bed for it?"
The England team have voted for John Terry to keep his place in the World Cup squad. With the ban on WAGs travelling to South Africa, no one wants him left behind.
(To the tune of Lord Of The Dance) "Chelsea, wherever they may be, "Don't leave your bird with John Terry. Cos he likes a s**g, he likes a bit of fluff, And he'll get your missus up the duff!"
Wayne sent his missus a replica of his willy made from Cadbury's chocolate. But she refused it, saying she prefers Terry's! Bridge refuses to play for England while John Terry's captain...let's hope he starts cheating with Heskey's missus

thing is, they should have given stevie g the band anyway. it would have made him a better player, like it did for liverpool. i don't think the band has changed JT, he's just as much a leader with or without, so better to have another player raising his game.

not a criticism of gerrard, just some players react differently to these things.

anyway, it's classic media bollox. jt is obviously a scumbag but couldn't really give a flying funk.

Normally, I'd agree with you wholeheartedly

But I know this reporter and, as full of crap as he usually is, he is genuinely on friendly terms with several top footballers. i.e. invited to weddings and funerals type friend.

as opposed to "would sell his own children to black market organ peddlers if it landed him a scoop" type friend? ;)
