The footy !!

England are massively lacking creativity, balance is totally wrong. They all want to be the one on the end of a move to put in the net, no one willing to sacrifice for the teams benefit.

Palmer improves us because hes willing to create, a fair few need dropping and mix it up a bit.
 
We’re being gaslit by Southgate and the players saying we’re playing well. Absolute dire to watch. Should of made changes when we went 1 down. Yet the clueless Southgate doesn’t until the 66th minute. The man is tactically inept.

How much of that are easy draws though?

2018: Columbia, Sweden then lost when faced a good Croatia

2021: worst German side for a while, a tired Ukraine, average Denmark, then lost a lead at home to a good Italy team

2022: Senegal then lost to France (with admittedly a good performance)

Will give him credit for his man management as we dont see the issues with ego that we used to see, but big doubts about his tactics in big games.

Sometimes I wonder if a team of trolls created Ronaldo in some laboratory. How can anyone have such a punchable face?

Good game though. Never seen a side like Slovenia fluff so many counter attacks!
 
Good games today. First the Dutch steamrolled over Romania. Then the surprise favorite Austria bowed out, with good attacking football played by both teams in the 2nd half and an incredible save by the Turkish goalkeeper in the last minute.

The last surprise team still in the tournament is Switzerland. My money is still on Spain to win the cup, with Germany being the 2nd favorite. I hope I am wrong with the former and right with the latter 🤣

Saw some Slovenian fans coming from the stadium in the local train yesterday - don't think I ever saw fans hat happy after having lost on penalties. They were especially proud they made Ronaldo cry.

Not sure why this England team is still in the tournament, but I trust the Swiss will correct that.

Few years old that mate - was always a debate whether a wall should jump when defending a free kick, which if they did the opponent could potentially score by shooting beneath them. With the 'draft excluder' behind the wall, they can jump and he should block any low shots.

Be interesting to see stats on how many free kicks were scored be going under walls before this became I thing, I don't remember loads....

Im enjoying the tournament but think the 3rd place go through system needs a review. The only 3rd place team thats gone through to the Quarters is Holland (who where the best ranked 3rd place team)

On one hand thats correct...the 3rd place teams have been disadvantaged in the draw and 1st place given an advantage but on the other doesnt it mean the round of 16 has been pointless? Aside from UEFA having another round of gate revenue of course!
 
The ugliest French team of history is in semi-final, nobody talks about us, but we are still alive... I think we have the best defence in the tournament, and by far the best goalkeeper.
And with that you can go very far... Even being very ugly in the game.
