The footy !!

which exciting youth team prospects will be leaping into the first team next season?
At Chelsea? Hopefully McEachran. He's first class. Only I hope the next manager plays him where he belongs, in Lampard's role behind the strikers, instead of further back like Carlo did.

Chalobeh is still very young but I could see him coming through sooner rather than later.

Van Anholdt and Bertrand are both very good left back prospects. And hopefully Bruma will come good as a center half.

That's all that comes to mind at the moment, unfortunately. There were a couple of youth players that excelled in the reserve team match I saw last week.

Our academy is actually starting to turn out some good young players. The investment in facilities will be justified. The problem is integrating them when expectations are so high.

Look at Scott Sinclair - wanted to play regularly, went off to Swansea and nearly single-handedly shot them into the Championship playoffs.

Turns out Carlo got the chop in the tunnel outside the dressing room half an hour after the final whistle.

Classy :D

It couldn't wait til Monday?

Funny, you could image one of romans henchmen knock on the dressing room door "Carlo, can we have a word. Oh, and guys, we'll now have one spare place on the coach if anyone else needs a lift"

So, how did everyones team do in terms of your expectations before the season started??? and what was the season highlight?? and lowlight??

Me - Everton..

As per normal really and as per expectations. The usual slow start which overall has cost us again......too many draws (and even a few home defeats) against the so called lesser sides. The record against the top teams (Liverpool, Man U, City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs) was decent especially at home with 4 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat.

Frustrating (again as usual) as i feel we are only a couple of players away from being top 4 challengers on a consistent basis, one of these players being a striker, but again the lack of investment in the club and lack of cash imput from current owners means that we haven't been able to take that next step up the ladder. An interesting summer ahead for sure!

Highlight - can't choose between the FA Cup game at Chelsea and the Liverpool game at Goodison

Lowlight - the FA cup defeat at Goodison by Reading. The most peed off i have been with them in a LONG time...

End of the season, isn't it? No training on Monday.

Arsenal- expected to challenge for the EPL title, CL,FA, and Carling's cup

Low light poor champions league performance, which had us play El Barco early

The draws and losses at home

The win against Man U

As well as the ones mentioned by Johnny already, add to that list Piazon, Cork, Clifford and Lalkovic (that boy can move)....

Chelsea are a rich Bolton and the sooner they piss off back to mid table obscurity the better. You can't buy a history, you clearly can't buy class and you definitely can't buy the Champions League.

Gutted, doubt we'll get anywhere for a couple of years now.

There were a couple of fans (and a lot of plastics) wanting him to go but the general consensus was to at least let him see out his contract...

I think Chelsea aren't far from being back on top. I'd invest in a creative midfielder.. a la David Silva.
I want Sneijder

Agreed. That was the general consensus among everyone I spoke to around the Bridge last week, fans and staff.

Ah yes, that's the one. Lalkovic. Well impressed by him at the reserve final.
I wonder what will do with Cork and Clifford. Send them out on loan again or finally give them a chance to play? :?

You can't buy a history.
True... you just have to exist for 106 years to have a history.

My highlight from Chelsea's season was Torres' goal.

Possibly been pointed out here already that he scored more against us than for us this season.

Think my highlight was that woman kicking Ancellotti out of her seat at a reserve match.:lol::lol: (Think that was this season)

Think if Yossi had stayed fit we could've made abit more of this season but those are the breaks. Lack of depth is what really killed us this time the 25 man rule and the homegrown quota...

the 25 applied to all squads though mate, so it wasn't a numbers prob in the squad...more like a lack of depth within that 25.

I don't reckon chelsea are that far away though, with the money they have they never will be. Some players need replacing for sure, but the cash is there to do it.
