The Footy... (2011-2012 season)

It would seem that John Terry doesn't like fags now....

Two recent disappointments from the world of footy for me:

1) Mancini, who I'd previously quite liked, waving an imaginary red card from the touchline. (As it happens, it wasn't even an penalty - there was no contact until after Toure had dived, but even it had been, the card thing was terrible).

2) Liverpool, accepting the FA's findings, because frankly you couldn't do anything else, but still trying to pretend that's not the case.

not defending him, but we had just lost gareth barry to a ridiculous 2nd yellow.
and whats the difference between that and taggart always pointing at his watch?
re the penalty its the first thing we got off the ref all night so I will take it, makes up for the one we didnt get at chelsea :)

Yes, of course, swings and roundabouts, agreed. Complaining about individual reffing errors too much is silly. I only found the penalty that wasn't worthy of comment because I abhorred Mancini's subsequent actions.

There's a world of difference between a manager or player claiming time should be up/added and demanding a player be sent off.

why? isnt it trying to influence an official to create an advantage for yourself?

(incidentally i was disappointed in bobby manc too, usually shows a lot of class)

Liverpool have done the right thing by accepting the ban now. Suarez misses 3 cup games and 4 winnable Prem games, he then returns just in time to play Man U, Everton and Arsenal.

He hasn't exactly been on scoring form although he has been playing really well. Hasn't been taking his chances at all. With Gerrard now back i think liverpool were wise to accept.

I was likewise quite unimpressed by their stance. Admit he screwed up and get on with it. :spank:

This has it for me:

Tim Howard has scored more goals in 2012 than Fernando Torres and Andy Carroll combined.

And for all those asking I am informed that the price of Tim Howard scoring first would have been about 500/1.

happy new year!

That was the 3rd goal Phil Jones has scored since joining United. Unfortunately 2 have been into his own net

Did you see the look on his face? He did not know how to react.
