on a curious note, pepe recently gave all his vinyl collection of 80s music (from cheesy disco to U2) to dj reche and thats exactly the type of music you will hear during his 3-hour-set in the chillout area upstairs next sunday at space (he will play the usual dance-y stuff during his session inside)!! ;)

if you saw the previous picture you will recognize them. isaac hidalgo (behind urgell) went there to represent eden instead of salinero!!

and talking about giving away vinyls, pepe roselló (space) recently gave all his collection of 60s/70s 7" singles and albums to the new san antonio association retro!!

this year the san antonio personality to read the pregón (opening proclamation) to mark the beginning of the festivities of the village was pepe roselló from space who, apart from being president of the club nautico in the past and starting playboy (the first music bar in san antonio back in the early 60s), play 2 and el refugio (nowadays gorms garage), used be a politician for the local council (urbanism)!!

he had good words for all the new projects the council wants to develop (the bus station behind piscis park, the port in ses variades, etc) but he also added, among other things, that the hotel owners must renew and improve their establishments in order to open themselves to new markets..........

Always surprises me for how old all the owners are, that they still hit the mark with their clubs 8)

Must have very good assistants

pepe roselló is in the news again because he donated to the consell insular his collection of paintings (7 in total) of the art forger elmyr d'hory plus a copy of the film "fake" by orson welles and a book wrote by clifford irving in 1969, both dedicated to elmyr d'hory :!:

elmyr d'hory moved to ibiza in the 60s to escape from the justice of several countries and committed suicide in his house in san agustín in 1976!!

i told ya!! :p

Consell Receives 7 Paintings By Elmyr d' Hory.
7 paintings by the infamous painter Elmyr d' Hory, who copied world famous paintings & was sometimes accused of forgery, were given to the Consell island Government by Josep Rosello, businessman on the island. Elmyr d' Hory came to the island in the 60's to avoid arrest in other countries of Europe after his paintings had been sold as originals by such masters as Picasso, Modigliani, Leger, Utrillo, Van Dongen & Chagall. Apparently, Elmyr d' Hory never forged a painting but his style was so true to the original that his paintings were sold as if they were an original by the master in question. Even Picasso once identified a painting by Elmyr d' Hory as one his own because it was so good! Others were hung in famous museums as originals.
When it all started to go wrong for him, Elmyr d' Hory finally found refuge in Ibiza in the middle of the hippy movement in the 60's & fell in love with the island where he remained for many years. When it looked as though he was finally going to be deported to France in 1976, Elmyr d' Hory committed suicide in the house he at that time had in Sant Agustin. His body is still buried in the cemetery in Ibiza Town.
Pep Rosello started to acquire works by Elmyr d' Hory several years ago along with other art by artists associated with Ibiza. He has given these 7 paintings to the Consell because he apparently considers it is important that the art of this famous painter is added to the cultural patrimony of the island. Rosello also gave the Consell a copy of a video made by Orson Wells about the life of Elmyr d' Hory called "Fake".
