essentially, this is what happens what people heavily rooted in a scene come into contact with people who are not

tbh I don't think the kinds of people attending an Armin night would have the first clue who Underground Resistance are or what they represent so I don't really think the brand clash is that important in this instance. However, it will clog up online searches, which is an unnecessary nuisance.
 
The thing that baffles me now is - they've already said they're gonna change the logo typeface - so theyre gonna have to re-print posters, reconfigure online adverts etc... if they've gotta do that, why not go whole hog and change it to Universal Religion?!

Let's be completely honest though, Armin and Underground Resistance are not in the same world. There's nobody turning up to Hï expecting to see Mad Mike & Jeff Mills. Nobody. Would there have been this furore had a rap artists used those initials? No way. And arguably hip-hop has way more in common with techno than big stadium trance does.

I don't think that anybody should have rights over a couple of initials. And I surprised to learn they even had a logo. Doesn't seem very underground resistance to me. But there you go.
 
it is possible of course that something did get lost in communication and that the yanks just jumped to conclusions without reading the finer details. there have been instances in the past of people trying to rip UR off. but yes - absurd to think there is any crossover of any kind here

Slide or no slide. It's a gimmick I have no interest in and won't be using.

Space used to have a bed in the middle of the dancefloor. No less of a shitty gimmick imho

Not a deal breaker for me either way

it really has got nothing to do with Space

it's just that they've put a slide in a nightclub

that's a nightclub, where the main reason people (should) go, is to dance

privilege used to have a slide when it was still KU - a slide into the pool. those were the good days I'd say? ;)
I'm not sure, but I think even booom in one of its former names had a slide? McR do I make these things up in my mind only?

what's funny is that, if I'm correct, the slide will only be accesible to the table clients. I wonder how many of the girls in high heels will want to take a ride and possibly ruin their prada dresses?

all that said I really don't mind that slide.


on another note, I have it on good authority that hï opening will go on for quite a bit in the AM ;)
