The building formerly known as Space --> HÏ Ibiza

Honestly don't know how people can slag a place off that hasn't even opened yet. How can anyone possibly know what it will be like?
Probably because more VIP means less atmosphere and them " we're all in this together " feeling that good clubs can create. No matter how you try and dress it up, it just isn't the same when so much of a club is dedicated to VIP. Nothing against the people who pay for this .however for those people who want to experience a proper atmosphere with likeminded people this is proper shit and not what ibiza is about. Not to mention the new music policy, ok every night in space wasn't always great but the Sunday lineups alone are really bad.

aregandj do you work for hi or did you design the club or something?
No actually mate I'm only 22 but if I've managed to wind some grown men up this much I find it hilarious, like come look at you lot trying to put a new club down before it's even opened because of some love fest you have for space, I get it you loved that club but get over it No one here cares about you negative opinions, just wait for it to open and see what it's like before putting it down this much. I agree it won't be the same or have he same atmosphere but move on that's gone make the most of what we have instead of moaning it ain't gunna change

I think the Sundays are not appealing, but how popular were Sundays at Space the last few years? I really want to know. For me personally, it was too hard to get away from Solomun. And yeah Monday is Garrix, but seriously in the past few years was Onyx or that trance night taking off?

They could have had underground nights but it's too hard bc there's too much overlap between ppl who like those artists and other established nights like Cocoon. That's why hi is going the cheese route, but I'm even wondering if this will work. I think ppl are worried that if they do, then other clubs may follow suit or something and change your their nights in the future.

I get ppl not coming because of what Hi represents, but basically I don't think these multiple niche underground nights can work on the island. I want them too (Soundgarden was something I wanted to really take off on a weekly thing- you guys shoulda chose a different day to do the party IMO!) The club itself seems nice with the changes.

And actually there are more underground nights thanks to Privilege Tuesdays and Thursdays when I think about it. It's not all doom and gloom!

Yes I get all that. We all know Ibiza was built on freedom and love and a special vibe. But you do realise space had probably the same amount of VIP? I bet you went there, and amnesia, dc 10, and pacha have VIP. So why are people digging at Hi when they haven't even seen it yet? Your issues are not about Hi they are about a social change that has made its way from other parts of the world to the island. when I'm on any of those dance floors enjoying good music I am with like minded people. I take no notice of someone in VIP in fact I don't even realise they are there. If they are lucky I might even drag them onto the dance floor to show them what they are missing

You're very passionate lol who cares man

Dudes why don't you just mind your own business what each likes and is gonna do and just do what you wanna do  I'm not going to hi like ever and then if I change my mind in ten years so what .

I went to space on Sunday last year and it wasn't quiet but wasn't rammed either with a line up of claptone, digweed and anja amongst others. I think the Sunday thing has served its time. Obviously there are good Sunday events as there are on every day of the week.

Trance is screwed. Cream exists but one room is edm and pvd, a and b and halliwell all play that horrible electro trance shite in the main room. There is a decent looking trance event in eden's backroom

I'd love to see a soundgarden Sunday residency in a decent location.

Not sure that's the case. If you like techno with a Zulu feel go on Saturday. If you like prog go on Tuesday. If you like cheese go every other day. VIP is here to stay in practically every club. We all just need to deal with that. It shouldn't detract from a good night if you are with the right people and listening to music you like. It's not space but had space wanted to continue Pepe had 27 years to make that happen and chose not to. Enjoy the memories and move on or live in the past. Clubbing in Ibiza in 2017 is v different to what it was in 1997. And that is very different to 1988. Things change. VIP is not going away. Work around it and enjoy yourself.

Because I am slagging off a corrupt system of people who have previously cut wristbands off people who pay money to attend thier event who are then choosing to go to another venue after that club has closed.

Can't believe people would stand up for those group of people.

How dare they.

Again im not saying anything that is going on is right but I'm asking why are people digging at Hi and have such strong feelings about a place that is still under renovation. We haven't even seen it yet. My point is that what everyone is angry about is happening in every single other club so why is Hi getting laid into so much when no one has even been? The so called underground music scene is full of things that we as ravers are against but it is what it is. the last time I was in space I was taking a break from dancing on the terrace and moved to an area that had a bit more room so I could have a drink. Within minutes I was asked to move out of that area because it was for table service and someone had paid for that area. Is that right? Should we all now hate space? The point is these things were happening before Hi and at clubs that were nothing to do with matutes but no one wants to mention that. When Hi opens if there is a night that looks good I will give it a go to see before I judge. From what we have been told the club room sounds right up a lot of people's street, dark, good sound, low dj booth. It might actually be a good room to party but we don't know yet.

Hating a place because of who runs it is silly. On that basis I should leave my wife because I can't stand my mother in law

If I was you mate I wouldn't waste your breathe on these narrow minded people ain't worth it you'll just go round in circles. If they wonna moan and bitch let em at the end of the day they will be the ones who could miss out on seeing a good new venue evolve.

All joking aside, the VIP toilets look incredible!!

I look forward to having some great nights there. No doubt some great production and amazing acoustics, what more could you want? Clubs and vibe don't suffer for VIP, that much is clear. Regardless I look forward to dancing with my friends, sharing some great moments and living some amazing memories. Just like we do at every other club on the island. When your tune drops or you're on your journey, you share that moment with your friends, in the moment, does it really matter where you are?

If VIP means an area where you have table to dance with your friends then no. I wholeheartedly agree that the vegas/west end style of champagne and sparklers is horrific. But that doesn't happen in ibiza to my knowledge, so in respect to that, no.
