The building formerly known as Space --> HÏ Ibiza

Fair enough, perhaps it came across more harsh than was intended. Diffiult to convey context with plain words I guess.

nah, it's bullshit, sorry. This is a forum about Ibiza, and therefore about DJ's. To come on here and talk about a DJ in terms of whether or not she's attractive, is just bollocks. Even if you were joking, it ain't right, and it needs to be called out. 'More harsh than intended' my arse. You thought you were being funny and you got pulled up on it by a few ppl, including the mods. It's 2017, not 1977 ffs.

You don't know me, so don't go on as if you do.

At least your calendar is working.
fair enough, I don't know you, and you're probably an alright bloke. But I get a bit fed up of reading stuff like that. It's not cool to make jokes about it, and def not in public. It demeans women. Maybe you don't care either way, or maybe you do, but unless it's called out when it happens, people will continue to think it's OK.

I'd say the same about a bloke though, it's nothing to do with being demeaning, it was a lighthearted comment which came across wrong, I get that. Hopefully we'll be in Ibiza at some point together in future and we'll have a beer and talk it over ;)

I'm with you Lee on the demeaning bit. I'm sure it had nothing to do with gender. I get told quite alot by men and WOMEN that I'm punching well above my weight when I'm out with my wife and I'm no oil painting I'll agree. But it's light hearted banter and I'm wise enough to understand, true or not. Don't agree with taking the piss out of someone you don't know or who can't defend themselves, but anyway it was a joke and not everyone will find that funny, Hey ho it's that pc brigade and you can't say nothing anymore without upsetting someone.

Possibly not but how often are male DJs criticised for the way they look?

Not a lot since its mostly guys who like this scene and are not gonna comment on how other guys look for fear of seeming "gay". Guys will comment freely on women tho, which sucks I guess.

I'll say that this is a very image based scene and many men and women DJs/producers are judged on looks even though other guys may not wanna comment on how the men look. It does work both ways for both sexes

True, but I'm sure there are women who would comment on a male dj's look if he wasn't up to scratch. For some people it's a natural comment that they wouldn't think twice about saying.
