Talk me through your first day!

Im defo 2 of those things and also get anxiety a fair bit but have been clubbing in Manchester and Ibiza on my own. Its quite invigorating as youre doing what your brain is telling you not to but never had a bad night. The worst part for me is probably the lack of social before and after, once in the club i love it.

My thinking has changed over the past 12 months or so.

- Now, I dont expect much so anything else is a bonus

- Shit Happens

- I do what I can manage

No anxiety

Yes we have gone totally off topic....my first day, which is this Friday, I’m with a girl friend, first girls trip without kids.....we’re going to be like kids in a sweet shop!!! I have made all these plans, but as long as I have gin & tonic, something to eat then we’ll be looking for somewhere to dance early on. Not much choice; Bora Bora or Blue Marlin. Then dinner & to bed. Unless Music on is totally worth it. Liked the sound of Oxia.....but as I say, we’re moms, and 40, so we’ll probably be exhausted by 10pm!
Music on is good always have a good night when I go there

That's true! I always get a bit anxious and paranoid going to the club on my own, once I am in its fine. You could be dancing next to someone and for all people know they could be your friend...

I done it last year. Was more nervous about being bored in the day and looking like a loner, dam I was wrong. More folk spoke to me just out of curiosity and we ended up having a right good session.

Lasted 9hrs amnesia closing on my todd and it never once bothered me, was in a taxi with two birds who i was drinking with at a hotel earlier in the day. Not musically clued up but you would still have abit at the end of the night. . . Its probabley the first time ive lost anybody on purpose, said i was going to the toilet and slipped off to the main room.

Lee Burridge on the decks or stick to dancing with someone who cant stop filming with a flash night?

No brainer

That sounds fun. Was keen on seeing the SJ celebrations. Could do that and then head to Black Coffee & Themba later. Brothers from the Motherland, so we’re showing our safa support! Not that I’m keen on Hï itself.

My friend is djing from midnight to 2.30am,the dj who's playing after him is less interesting I think, so could be perfect hour for you to go to hï

best not to plan too hard.

first day was land>check in>ocean beach club (ate the sushi)>change>nobu hotel bar (can highly recommend their mescal cocktails) ate some bar plates>ibiza port bar>pacha.

3pm till 3am job done.

Just checked the vodka orange prices at Pacha from the receipts last night and broke out in a cold sweat.

re: music-on - I Would never return to music on since women started getting mugged in the ladies toilets by Spanish gangs and the security didn’t have the balls to sort it until the police arrived and raided the toilets at 2.30am. This was last July.

I roll with Spanish friends that night and the crowd was rougher than a weekend night in blackpool. mainland Spanish Women with tats and nose rings snorting speed off their hands on the dance floor, no thanks.

Carolla still is, one of the worlds top Djs though.

Yup, that's pretty much the Music On I remember the one and only time I went in its first year !! You forgot the coked up gaggles of roidy Italians barging cockily through people in the hope of kicking off a barney

This year I'm arriving much later than previous years so I won't be able to accidently get drunk throughout the day :(. I will however be able to get drunk in the airport beforehand.. Arrive at 7pm ish, hopefully I'll be checked in and have been to the shop for my toiletries by 9 - Unsure if I'll save myself for the next day or head straight out at the moment

In october got a nice first day - should be at the airport 10.30, then a bus to the port and ferry to Formentera, bus to the hotel and should be in there for 2pm. Pop in to town for the toiletries and then straight into the sea if it's sunny.

doing clubs alone takes guts - it's not for the shy, self-conscious or paranoid. I have done it before in London and most people look at you like you're a dealer, undercover, creep or thief (or any combo of the above)
This is not my experience at all, I often go clubbing alone and I would consider myself pretty shy. I would actually far rather go on my own than go with someone that's nagging to go home by one o'clock. In any case, I'm quite hard of hearing and in a club I have zero chance of being able to talk to anyone anyway, even if I weren't away in my own little world...
