Staying at Ushuaia 2017

It's your holiday and money mate so spend it how you like but the beauty of these forums is that there's lots of people on here who can tell you another way to listen to the same music, in the same clubs but do it for a lot less money and, possibly, a lot more fun. Some of the advice may be more acerbic than others which can be a little hard to swallow but it's almost always earnest.

Oh, and another thing, as it seems as though you're new to posting here, of all the advice and opinions you read, Stivi's are the ones to pay most attention to.

As for my two pence, I'd never stay at Ushuaia as I thought it far too expensive before hearing that price of 1749 for a room, but then I'm careful with the money I have. To get a drink when it's busy I find that the bars right at the back have never been too crowded and are a good place to catch a breather, as are the palm trees on the left-hand side as you look at the stage.
Great post

since the ~1800 quote came directly from the hotel i'm not going to say its wrong... but i've stayed there twice last two years for a few nights and I can tell you that unless there is something already going on that night which somehow locked down most of their stage view rooms, that you should not be paying more than 400 euros or so for a room with a stage view... keep on checking back and i'd be surprised if you don't see more reasonable rates soon.

Interesting. I will keep an eye on the website and see what prices they list once the stage view rooms come up.

cheaptickets.com has Ushuaia on sale consistently last year from January to May for all rooms including stage view and also had a 15% - 20% discount code in April for tax time in the US - worth a look for this year once the stage view rooms are made available.

I've stayed at Ushuaïa a couple times -- not to watch the DJs from my room (since I love to be down in the thick of the crowd), but largely for the convenience. It's easy to get in as a guest with no ticket queuing, and it's easy to pop up to the room at midnight to change into fresh clothes before heading out to a second party for the night. And while I wouldn't pay just for that, I will say ambiance of the lobby and being helped by their attractive staff isn't such a bad thing. :D

Are you set on staying for just 1 or 2 nights? In years past, they've offered discounts of around 45% for stays of five nights or more (booked directly with the hotel). If you could take the time, you could end up being able to stay for five nights (and catching five nights of parties) for not much more than the cost of 2. And really, 1-2 nights doesn't seem like nearly enough Ibiza time!

Will be in Ibiza for 6-7 nights and was considering staying a night here. Given I will be in Europe for 8 weeks I would just go through too much cash by spending 4.5k aussie on one week at Ushuaia.

I understand the point of having your drinks nearby and not having to wait every time you want to top up on booze. if you're a big drinker I get that point. I also understand the point you make about having more space. but what I don't understand and honestly couldn't disagree more with is 'watching the act'. it's a goddamn DJ that, in the case of ushuaïa, mostly really is just pushing a few buttons. you don't WATCH DJs, you DANCE and LISTEN to them. and if you're on your balcony you're not actually part of the dancefloor which is where the magic happens. I understand people quickly go to their rooms to have a drink, use toilets, have a quick breather. but staying there all evening, staring at the stage....I really don't get that.

Just came across this post and thought I'd add my tuppence.....I stayed at Ushuaia a couple of years back (4 nights, thurs - Sunday). BIGGEST WASTE OF MONEY EVER! The rooms are really not worth the money you have to pay for them, the staff although polite are really only interested in those guests who are dripping in money (the suites etc). The decor in the rooms looks impressive online, in reality it's just cheap ikea tat, our tv never worked (not that we wanted to watch the soaps or anything but we thought we'd switch it on one evening and not a single channel worked!), we had a socket hanging off the wall exposing wires and bit of plaster, there is sufficient storage for one night tops (we lived out of our suitcase the entire time), I asked for ice at the bar one afternoon and was told it would cost €10 when I said I was a guest the bar staff just shrugged! I had expectations of the trip being a massive treat but he reality was very different. Granted it is a plus to not have to queue and being able to pop to your room for a drink is handy but I he following years since staying there we've stayed all inclusive for a week elsewhere but with our 'insider knowledge' know the good spots to get better bar service and cleaner toilets!! I would recommend for your birthday to splash out on a boat / speedboat trip instead, you'll get more value for money and probably have a better time!!:cool:

Oh and the 'free wifi' didn't work in the rooms, some of the areas near the stage and reception area worked but in the room I don't remember it ever working

I haven't stayed at Ushuaia myself but I do remember being at Ants, looking up at one of the balconies just left of the stage and seeing a group of about 5 people all drinking, laughing and dancing and thought that would be pretty cool to have a room there looking over the crowd and about 100meters from the stage

But then Stivi comment is true....When you're in the thick of it you meet random people at the bar or on the dance floor and that is exactly what happened the two times I have been. All the Balcony is there for in my opinion is to pose and say look at me I am paying far too much for this room which means I have more money to spend than you....But the people on the dance floor are having a lot more fun and making far more memories!!!

And to be honest I don't remember waiting a long time for a drink or queue to get in twice. The only thing I noticed was there was a queue for the females toilets.

However would I stay at Ushuaia if I could afford it and felt I was getting a good deal compared to other hotels? Yes...though I wouldn't spend my night on the balcony. I would want to be in the action and standing about 20 meters from the stage slap bang centre with some random guy from some town in Italy telling me what he does for a living and how long he has been coming to Ibiza

^^^^what he said!

There is no way I would part with the sort of cash Ushuaia ask to stay there, it is not what I want out of my trips to Ibiza, the events there do not act as any sort of bonus for me either as I have no interest in attending any.

One of the best hotels I have stayed at in Mar Y Playa in Figuretas, and have stayed there lots of times now. Its far enough away from PDB that its not a party hotel but you get good service, its clean, the beds are made daily, nice little bar, swimming pool, close to beach and the staff are freindly, and most of all its very reasonably priced.

Don't waste your money at Ushuaia, there are far better hotels on the island, and much better value.
