Staying at Ushuaia 2017

The Kolsch and axwell (obviously very commercial now) ref was directed at 'the1likejose'

In regards to the drinks and lining up at the bar I will be out the other 4 nights of the 5 im staying in ibiza on the dance floor and at bars for pre party so plenty of time to meet fellow ravers.

I was in ibiza last season and was able to meet heaps of great people and have some funny chats half cooked at clubs and on the disco bus to and from venues.

By 'watch' I think you assume I mean stand there and face the stage for a 2 hour set LOL. It's not like I don't dance around with people , drink and laugh with friends etc

Anyway the luxury of having the balcony for one night is in no way worth 1749 euro to me. I can have a lot of fun with that much cash for the week let alone one night.

It's your holiday and money mate so spend it how you like but the beauty of these forums is that there's lots of people on here who can tell you another way to listen to the same music, in the same clubs but do it for a lot less money and, possibly, a lot more fun. Some of the advice may be more acerbic than others which can be a little hard to swallow but it's almost always earnest.

Oh, and another thing, as it seems as though you're new to posting here, of all the advice and opinions you read, Stivi's are the ones to pay most attention to.

As for my two pence, I'd never stay at Ushuaia as I thought it far too expensive before hearing that price of 1749 for a room, but then I'm careful with the money I have. To get a drink when it's busy I find that the bars right at the back have never been too crowded and are a good place to catch a breather, as are the palm trees on the left-hand side as you look at the stage.

And as for Kolsch, most in-form producer in the world in my humble opinion. Sasha's been playing Dogma 1 and 2 back to back a lot last year and they sound amazing!

Yeah I was having a go at the other dude referring to Ushuaia as having an 'overrated plonker' on stage as if to say nobody decent plays there.

Yep long time reader first time poster. First season was last year. Went to space, amnesia, ushuaia and pacha. So much more to see hence why I want to return.

Yep have seen stivis name pop up heaps in other threads and I am grateful for any info.

Overrated and overpaid plonkers. Come to think of it,ushuaia is full of em! ..Plonkers.

This forum is like a crystal ball, you can see the future, and what it holds for white Isle...

They get overpaid no matter where they play in the world.

The reason I wanted to come to ibiza was because of the music. True classic house which first got me interested in clubbing. Then realising the clubs had been there for years and years with everyone coming back for the sun and tunes.

The Vegas look sucks. Not what ibiza was all about.

Be much better staying at Destino for a night or 2, especially when Solomums is on, the pool area is lovely in the day and the food is great too, its expensive but so much nicer than Ushuaia

I havent been to Ushuaia since 2013 and come to Ibiza every summer, I know I'm not missing anything not going there, I much preferred it when it was the small beach club!

I stayed in "The anything can happen Suite " opening week couple of years ago, it had a side view to the stage.

Had a great time, the room was huge, very comfy and a jacuzzi on the terrace which was great fun, I got a great deal by booking a early.

The pool is quite small down stairs, but the service was always good, drinks are expensive

The breakfast was amazing the best spread I have ever seen in any hotel I've been around the world, security and staff were also excellent

I like Ushuaia, their openings have a great vibe and do enjoy Ants. I've never queued to long for a drink as someone said the bars at the back are the ones to go to.

it has gone off-topic, you're right.

the point I was trying to make is that there are lots of other venues that don't ooze any las vegas vibe even though they have a vip area.

Yes I am well aware of that. That is not the reason I went to Ibiza last year. I just thought it might be good to do something different with a little bit of luxury for a once off special occasion. All said and done I am not prepared to pay 1800 euro for one night at Ushuaia.

I actually want to see a lot more of the pace this time. Go across and see Formentera and a few other things. With some nights of clubbing of course. Last time all I did was stay in San An, drink and go out each night which was a rookie mistake. Still enjoyed myself however there is soooo much more to see and experience.

Being a frequent October visitor I guess I'm just a lucky/unlucky observer seeing all these old Fiesta hotels put in the dumper over recent years...what a sad waste, all the fake stuff brought in and shipped out at the end of the season, it warps in the damp I suppose. Just hanging on, the newbies who are prepared to pay the new Bossa prices are mugs who won't be there for the long haul.
It is now of course, a different era.

since the ~1800 quote came directly from the hotel i'm not going to say its wrong... but i've stayed there twice last two years for a few nights and I can tell you that unless there is something already going on that night which somehow locked down most of their stage view rooms, that you should not be paying more than 400 euros or so for a room with a stage view... keep on checking back and i'd be surprised if you don't see more reasonable rates soon.

For pretty much the price quoted for 1 night in ushuaia, me and mate have got 1 week all inclusive at grand paladium in closing flights and all the other stuff. (In July mind)

It's nice hotel where can really chill and relax but close to ushuaia, space (or whatever it is now). Quick taxi to dc10, Pacha, amnesia etc.

Did look at ushuaia last year but peeps I know who've stayed there said it could do with a referb. So if you want something good for bday I'd say consider the other high end hotels in area (HRH, palladium, algarb spa etc) , but completely up to you I guess!

Ps I've stayed in 2* hotels, San an etc in my times I've stayed, but as get older like all inclusive high end ones now so I can rest my old bones and sleep :D

This is very refreshing to read. :-) My opinion of staying on the island is that of MrHullMysterious here. I will stay at any other San An property from now on.

I did enjoy back in 2012 seeing the nights from the balcony before the refurb when I got full board and stage view for under $1100 with airfare for eight days.

I heard a new Ushuaia devotee here in the States raving about how since the DJs come to you at Ushuaia, you don't need to go anywhere else on the island but the hotel - is that what management is telling them to tell their friends to earn a free night or resort credit?
