Is it an organised ride or one you're planning yourself?
mentalist - its hard enough dodging the dozy bastards wearing headphones, or those who run 3 abreast, bitching about some girl who's going out with some 'fit' bloke...http://www.mhsurvival.co.uk/page34.asp
thats as far as ive got in training... 10miles - 2hrs interval runs (mainly uphill, as i live in a place thats slopes one way - into the brent canal!)the most I'd done in training prior to the run was 10 miles and it was the last 3 miles that killed me!
Listen to your body, find out ways to iron out/prevent niggles (in my case, it was ALWAYS shin splint, solved by buying the correct pair of shoes, compression tights (tried the long socks, but didnt get on with them). apart from week one back in april, not had a problem since.Any tips?
ooops...smoked 20+ Marlboro Lights a day
I hate training... i love racing, so much easier when you got people to 'pick off'It's the dullness that kills me.
What did you do on day 7? I am thinking of swimming - yay/nay?
I run but I haven't ran in a race before... I started running outdoors a few years ago but I just run home from work and it is only 5 miles.
I actually really hate running even after 3 years I still hate it.
Any tips?
I agree, I don't find the running bit 'that' hard but training for a race is so time consuming - I feel a real saddo when people ask me if I'm going for after work drinks on a Friday and I have to say 'I'm not drinking as I have to do my long run on Saturday morning'
Any of you guys/ girls ever suffered back problems?
I have been desperate to get into running again for the past couple of years. I suffer chronic lower back pain and two different chiropractors have told me 'no running'. I have sacked both seeing as they did nada to releive my problems. And there is tons of stuff on the net saying chiropractors are basically charlatans.
I have run on the treadmill a few times recently and after a while the pain goes off whilst running and suffer no after effects.
Wifey is concerned I am doing damage, yet even the instructors at the gym can't agree whether it's beneficial / harmful.
Anyone in the spotlight running club ever had back problems and still run long term?
Just denied entry throught the ballot system.
Going to have to go the charity route. Never mind.
Expect some serious begging on here come march and april

Download some quality drum and bass and match your pace to it.
I recommend Spor http://www.mediafire.com/?ael5cposiyjg5ze, Evol Intent or Nosia http://dnbshare.com/download/01-noisia_-_essential_mix-sat-03-12-2010-talion.mp3.html for running.
Just done a night time 9k run in 45:11, got all of the badness from a weekend of carnage out of me!

Something about this post makes feel uneasy re your charitable motivations bit like the 'lets go sky diving - how much is it? lets do it for charity then' brigade!
Yeah, why dont i just pay the 1800 pounds myself. 1800 quid for 6 months of hell followed by the most painfull 3.5 hours of my life
..it is much harder to run a fast 5 k than a half marathon.
