Space Closing 2016

Reading this makes me even more depressed than thinking about Space closed forever. Many people declaring that their time on the island is over because Space is gone. It truly marks the end of an era and I'm finding it hard to believe. Great review otherwise, I was touched.

In fact, i should say i might not even have gone back to the island if it were not for this last Space closing. So this is why i had such great expectations, and why i don't know if i'll be coming back.
Space out of the picture, what remains?
Privilege is too big, pacha too posh and the DJs i don't really like, Amnesia too techno but i could enjoy a few parties there still, El Divino as I loved it is over, i've never been a great fan of Eden and the San An places, and i don't even wanna talk about ushuaia and stuff.
I never had the time to discover Blue Marlin or some of those beach bars or places that have opened lately (seems odd, time goes by waaaaay to quick in this part of the world, you never have time to do it all!!!) and i was enjoying Bora Bora in the first years, not so much now, find it sometimes too "heavy" to really appreciate.
So this would leave me with DC10, Km5 (why, i don't know...) and the good vibes of the white city.

I don't know what's coming next, but if you see it my way, Space was a cornerstone of the island for all those trips.

Rest in peace, sunset terrace!!!

I got home last night and have been working all day. Spent a lot of the night on my own hopping around seeing different sets. What a day/night. Dancing on the terrace in the sun was magnificent.

I guess I'm lucky that I already moved on from pinning my trips around Space or any other big club on the island. Been out quite a few times now in Season and not gone near any of them. Once you raise your eyes beyond partying there's everything else you could possibly want to do on a Mediterranean holiday there for the taking.

100% agree. Rent a car and explore the island. So much more than the clubs.

Yeah agreed will I come back to Ibiza ? 100% yes, but it's not the clubs that will draw me back in the way Space did..... "From now Ibiza will no longer be the same"

It's no bad thing in many ways. If you put the money you would have spent on taxis, entry fees and drinks etc. aside and use it for activities, renting cars/boats/bikes etc. and some nice food, you can fund a pretty full-on time for yourself, still have the odd party and also come home fitter, healthier and feeling fulfilled (rather than, in my case anyway, somewhat gratified but generally rinsed out and riddled with "post-bender blues" tinged with guilt) ! Takes a lot of determination to break the reflexes initially but there is Life in Ibiza after Space ;)

Well as long as you got in ok, don't worry about the other poor souls queueing up diligently outside Don't you think if EVERYONE thought like that it would have been absolute bedlam, even worse than it was?

You seriously gonna judge me.

99% of the time I am the most giving person. However sometimes you need to take control of the situation and take matters into your own hand.

I am not going to stand back when I see with my own eyes the lack of organisation and people without tickets stroll into the line Infront of me.

I was very surprised at how small the que for people with tickets was compared to without - this poor group of 3 girls behind us in the "buy on the door" que got told to rejoin the back of the online ticket que, after being in it with us for at least 2 hours (circa 9-11pm).

I was in there on my own after my buddy went home at 2am, I ditched the outdoor stage to seek solace in my favourite area, the yellow tube in the premier etage. I spent 2 hours talking to strangers and generally reminiscing, only to walk downstairs to get involved again and get massively pissed off by the sheer force of people walking through the corridors at about 4am, you literally couldn't move. I darted down a side alley and out through a door, only realise it was an exit. Doorman told me to join the que at the front again. I bailed and watched the rest on the balcony in the apartment (crying!).

Mortified.

Well ive just finished listening/watching most of the sets.....Unbelieveable night of music! Every set imo was brilliant, not one ive heard so far where i was bored or not feeling it.

Makes me feel even worse for not going, words cant describe how good the night must have been for all you that went. Im thankful to Be@ Tv for streaming this as at least ive been able to watch it...... not quite like being there i imagine!

So many old classics (and i mean proper classics!) that you dont hear much or at all anymore! Many unexpected tunes aswell !

The sets were incredible...where did you listen to them, i want to hear the ones that i missed

What can I say more that wasn't already said? We went in at 7:45 on monday morning and enjoyed the sets of Paul Reynolds on the Sunset Terraza and then Carl Cox and Nic Fanciulli in the main room. Reynolds dropped classics over classics, it was unreal. Everybody hands in the air, singing, smiles on the faces...
Then Cox and Fanciulli, fantastic too, we all cried on the last classics played there.
Here is a video I shot of the last moments in the main room :

Thank you Space.
