Space Closing 2016

The queue was a joke and I did expect alot better but it was a breeze compared to Ushuaia the night before.... was an absolute free for all and some crushing must of happened as i felt it could happen at any moment to myself.
Why neither party couldnt make clear designated lines with barriers is beyond me, i honestly cant figure it out

We got to Space just before 5pm, already had tickets through Spotlight and were in within a few minutes. Bushwacka was on in the flight arena and it soon became evident that the event was going to be classic tune after classic tune. We moved up to the Premier Etage for a couple of hours, seeing out the sunset with a great set from DJ Oliver which included a sit down for Oxia Domino! After this it was down to the discoteca for a nostalgic wander round and a drink behind the dj booth before it became packed. Then on to the Sunset terrace which was already heaving and heard 'All You Need Is Love' and 'Finally'. The car park was far busier now, we caught the end of Darius Syrossian and stayed for a good portion of Steve Lawler's thumping set. Then it was back to the main room for James Zabiela which was one of the best short sets I've heard and plenty of room for a dance still. Checked out the terraza for a bit, remember 'Lola's Theme' being dropped to a great reception. The time had come to brave the big outdoor crowd again and go in for Carl Cox. We managed to find a decent spot about halfway and stayed until the big man was done at 2am and the singalong to 'Imagine' after is one I wont forget. Shuffling back to the club entrance in a queue that was going nowhere, we decided to cut our losses and have a final drink in car park before heading back to a bar near the hotel.
We were shocked by how small the queue to get in was when we left at 2:45am

Overall a brilliant day that more than surpassed expectations. A definite 'I Was There' event, even if it was only for 9 hours! We were having lunch near Jet apartments when it ended, seeing all the people streaming out and being amazed how fresh everyone looked. A shame to read some of the bad experiences people had, guess we were lucky things turned out as we planned.

No, i thought this as well... Couldn't believe my luck when i noticed that i had 0001, but it says it on all of them...

Still amazing gifts for Space to give out though!!!!!!! :D

yeah a nice touch, just gutted we couldn't get ours on the night and were back in the UK when they kindly offered that we could collect them from the office.:( Still the memories of the night are priceless and the best gift Space gave in my opinion :)

One the back of the key ring is the number a unique limited edition type number?

Sorry I had to make a new account.. But yeah it's 0001 on them all ... Has anyone watched the video on the memory card yet? My bf was watching it but I couldn't look as it's making me cry!

image.jpg image.jpg Tuesday morning my bf went round to Space to try and get my goody bag. He had a Space T-shirt on and just walked in. He walked all around the club taking some pictures.. They are so sad :(

That queue that craig posted is outside of Digital in Newcastle. I think there were some crush injuries that night

These make me extremely sad!!!!!! I will be writing a review (possibly today) of my trip and i have a good few photos etc... I was watching a few of my videos on the flight from Madrid to Dublin last night and actually had a tear in my eye!!!!! I'm not just saying that either!!! I actually did!!! The guy beside me kept trying to look at me out of the corner of his eye, but luckily, i still had my sunglasses on, so it hopefully wasn't that obvious... Actually, i don't even care if it was!!!!

I'm truly gutted that the place is gone! :(:(:(:(

By the way, i'd like to put these photos on my Facebook album... I'll not take credit for them though!! :)

What's everyone's opinion on Fancuilli helping close Space? I'm listening to it now on Be-At TV. I don't mind fancuilli but don't think he was the right person to close alongside Coxy. His music is too dark and driving, not what the last few hours should have been about IMO. I remember thinking this at the time and watching it back is even more apparent for me. Cox brings in a bouncy classic and Fancuilli leads on with a dark mind-warper!!

Watching the last. Few hours of Cox's own night was pure magic. I wish it was just him Monday morning ☹️

Just picked up my goodie bag. Wasn't going to bother but happy I did. For anyone still here, there's a little booth in the car park. Love the key ring. And the message on the box too. Don't think the t-shirt at size S is much use to me though. Unless I go all Freddie Mercury next time I do the hoovering.

Did no one see Joseph Capriati at the closing :)?
I've also read that Solomun was a little bit over the edge :D?
The Timetable also start early to be not in time.

But big respect to you guys! Ive tried to stay from 4pm till the end. But my body passed out after 8hrs.. it was to busy for me. The stress for me walking from one stage to another was to much. In front of the stage at the flight area was enough space. But you need 15min back to the toilets with a lot of pushing. Going in from outside, on the way to the premiere etage was horrible. At the corner of the pizza stand the people where pushing hard.

I have some troubles with my hip and tried to take a seat. Impossible. And if you try to sit down on a wall a bouncer chased you away.

Also the air to breath if you was stuck between people was horrible.

We went on monday to Circoloco, but both rooms where rammed with people.

I think i am to old for that now. I was full of expectations and motivation, but at the end it was just pure stress for me.
