Solomun +1 @ Pacha 2017

Any ideas what to expect from butch? Apparently appeals to both house and techno fans but plays at watergate and Robert Johnson regularly.

Butch will be good i reckon. Saw him Xmas-time '15 and did the business for me. More house-y than techno.

I understand the appeal of seeing Hawtin, Sven etc. in Pacha - especially the latter, believe me! - but with Solomun I reckon those lesser-known +1 dates are overall more appealing.

I've got Tennis at the end of July, but a bit worried it'll be rammo. I bloody love Solomon at Pacha but only done late or early season before. Arranging my trip around Clockwork this year tho

it will be busy no doubt. as long as you're aware of this beforehand you'll be fine.

musically, the s+1 with tennis last year was one of the best all summer. it's definitely one I'm not gonna miss myself, no matter how busy it'll be.

Where's the best spot then? It'll just be me and the Mrs, so should be able to find a little space somewhere...

it depends on how close to the action you want to be.

on the actual dancefloor, as you walk down the stairs coming in through the main entrance, head to front right, just to the bottom of the tables section. not far right, but towards the right, about 10 meters from the dj booth used on sundays (and tuesdays). if you stick close to that low wall you're normally fine. you don't have a proper view on the DJ, but at least in my books this is totally unimportant anyway. it will get busy for sure, but by staying there you're sort of protected on one side by the walll and also have less traffic from people coming through. there's a point where the wall makes a curve and that's where you're normally OK.

if that's still too busy for your liking or you want to see the DJ and don't want to be down in the madness, head up to the gallery far above the dancefloor. that spot will also be busy, but in the back of it (say not standing at the railing looking down) there's normally enough space.

there are more places like this and it often also depends on the night. if it starts getting busy just try and move a little. in my experience, sometimes it's actually not the amount of people that bother you, but the ones just dancing to you instead. wild moves or someone bumping into you continuously can be bothersome and if you then move a little that problem is solved.

peak season clubbing needs some consideration, but if you keep your cool and are aware it's going to be busy you'll be fine. and the music and the atmosphere is normally really great at s+1.

I just need to embrace it and get involved I guess!

that's the spirit. honestly, if you're already thinking 'oooh dear, it's gonna be bloody packed and unbearable', with that mindset chances are huge you won't enjoy it.

it is peak season, clubs are busy. embrace it :) and at pacha there's always the rooftop terrace too if you need a breather.

Im going to pacha this Saturday my first time in 20yrs. Has much changed:oops: the funky room was just on your right as you walked in and the main room dj box was further on down the right side.

I didn't even know that the funky room used to be that one! this is now called the global room. the funky room is up the stairs after the main room to the left.

the dj booth in the main room is still in the same corner for most nights, except for solomun and maceo.

pacha will look a little different than how you remember it, but it'll be interesting to hear from you afterwards!

Pacha used to have one of those 360 things on their website. i.e. you choose a position in the club and you get a 360 view. Was great for first timers. Shame they no longer have it.

I can't frickin wait. Handed in my notice on Friday (got a new job) and I'm on 3 months notice, so I'll be out there during that notice (i.e don't care about work anymore) which means I might as well destroy some brain cells!! I have been going to Ibiza since 1995 and I can honestly say Solomon last year was in my all time top 3 nights! Just never been to Pacha peak season is all. I'm gonna get right on it!!
