the major reckons in 2019 we'll be able to see the first results of the strategic plan for san antonio. he also hopes to have a very different west end in three or four years:

in the meantime, the changes for next season will happen thanks to private investment... as you should know by now:

Stopping all-inclusive in the hotel industry is essential for ending trash tourism as well as regenerating a neighbourhood like the West End

-they'll be able to open even less hours than now [exact opening hours TBA]
the plan is that ALL bars and clubs in the west end will have to remove their terraces by 11pm and close at 3am as very late!

the new law should be passed in february...

my question is... what's the point of getting a cafe-concierto license if you have to close at the same time than the normal music bars?

This is horrible. I imagine putting all the drunk people out in the street at 3am before they want to go home will only lead to fighting and violence. Isn’t this what we’ve been seeing in UK high streets at weekends for years?

This is terrible! I' not the west ends biggest fan but when I go on my trips to ibiza maybe spend maybe 2 nights of the week in the west end and take it for what it is, had some amazing nights in lyt! I can understand limiting some of the venues and let a few stay open later! Maybe that wouldn't work I don't know but how would this affect the surrounding areas bars/clubs could es paradis and Eden benefit if this were to happen or maybe other decent bars/ clubs in the San antonio/bay area that when I'm there be very quiet after 2am. Ibiza is known for opening to all hours that's one of the reasons I go not the only reason but I like that option when not in a club

This is absolutely crushing news. Luckily I spent 2-3 days on the west end on my off days from clubbing this year to experience it. Was nice to get some cheap drinks and discover some smaller DJ talent. It's not really my scene, I feel too old, but it was nice to do something different. I went to Highlander and also a fancier place on my second last day and a couple of other places. It's a big meat market but still. Like ppl are gonna be wandering the streets like crazy all f***ed up in San Antonio at 3 AM, looking for something to do. I guess it helps the major clubs and those pickpocketers.

Alongside DC-10 possibly closing down, Blue Marlin not being able to play loud music anymore, 6 AM closing times and shops stopping liquor sales earlier, I feel Ibiza is really losing it and it's making me really down. A part of me thinks it'll still be business as usual but they seem really hell bent on cutting down on the nightlife. Some of these festival options and Croatia are looking more attractive TBH

If tourism gets affected then it's only a matter of time before the DJ talent jump ship too

Syrupy Summer deep house, is that still a thing;)

It's really not, I thinkk you know you the type i'm talking about. like this track:

I do hear this type of stuff in Ibiza time to time, like this one time in 2015 at Cala Bassa Beach Club. It's the perfect embodiment of summer vacay vibes but is sadly not that popular anymore.

The clubs will get incredibly busy if this goes through. Nobody goes on a night out in ibiza and goes home at 3am. I predict the end of the West end within a decade.
