i didn't realise it ment bars/pubs wouldn't be able to open either, that just seems really really stupid?

so if these plans went ahead you can't buy a drink in a bar/pub till after 4.30pm? I doubt that will happen; must be limited to big clubs..

JohnyJohnyyy, where are youuu?

oh and btw.....

As far as you announced bora bora in the west end
the BB flags were on the facade and the BB residents were playing there...... call it whatever you want:

Or as far as you announced last year that in bed with space was beginning at noon
it was the dj paul lomax who announced it on ibiza sonica back in april 2007 that it would start at noon..... i just posted in the forum :!:

*laughs*

you really honestly think that the spanish way of life of being able to have a beer, or brandy at 7am in a bar is going to be stopped!!!

New clubbing hours ?

... the clubs are now only allowed to open from midday each day and
therefore enforced to be closed for 6 hours, between 6 am and 12 pm.

But even this may not be enough to appease the local authorities,
who it seems are considering changing the opening hours once more.

Although nothing has been confirmed yet, there are strong rumours
that the authorities in Ibiza are looking to change the legal opening hours of the clubs
from 12 pm to either 4:30 pm …. or even as late as 6 pm !

While it is hard to imagine a 6 pm opening time being enforced,
there are strong signs that may lead to another change in the law …
meaning no clubs to open before 4:30 pm.

Of course, it is only Space and DC10 that are affected here but ...
o096s.gif
these new hours will no doubt cause a
o096s.gif
massive re-scheduling and

more than a few unhappy clubbers.

One thing is for sure, there are 1,000´s of Ibiza clubbers

who will be following these developments with baited breath.

but none of this really impacts on space.

1) space already open and close within the periods the consell insular want clubs to open to and from.
2) as a proportion of total hours space is open, the period from 6am-4.30 pm is less than half.
3) as a proportion of attendees/income/revenue/profits, the 6am-4.30pm period will be significantly less than half, probably more like a quarter (if that!)
4) As a consequence, i don't think Pepe will care if they can't open before 4.30 or 6pm!
5) Pepe has already shown his willingness to comply with the powers that be listening to them before, during and after the furore around the closures last June. So therefore, don't expect any radical action from him and link this to the matutes factor and future of space!!

space 2007 = 20% increase in turnover

question question party people!
are the spanish elections gonna change anything to the development of this story or things continue as we know them???
