Yeah, amazing animals! We got Molly as a kitten rather than a rescue, because Maine Coones can be similarly beneficial to kids with additional needs as dogs, but we don't have time to look after a dog properly.

Appreciate any tips as she's only a baby still really.

Unfortunately Guapo died young, at 7 years old.
He died suddenly of a pulmonary embolism.
I am not surprised by what you say about the benefits that these cats can bring to your son, so different this breed is from others, especially with children.
They behave more like dogs, ours loved to play for hours with our friends' children.
They are fully part of the family
