ministry of drugs

ignorant of what exactly? How come i can enjoy myself full on and the only thing that interferes with that is some sad jackarris on a comedown looking for more pills. All about the plur man. Yeah right. The drugs you mean

See man, You are exactly what I'm talking about. .. Alot more people are having mentalities like yours (thank God).

I love how everyone calls you deluded and 'un educated' because you choose NOT to **** your brains with ****. ... .. Seriously, if you need drugs to enjoy a party you are at a **** party, simple as that, and for what its worth the majority of MOS cd's I've brought locally have had **** music on them anyway so I can completely understand why you'd have to be ****ed on drugs to enjoy it now days...

Drugs don't change your life man. Everyone I've heard crap on about them opening your mind and ****, no I'm sorry, it's the ****ing drugs talking. The most creative people might take drugs and it might enlighten them, but half the time the stuff they put out on drugs is utter ****ing crap. Of course tho, society calls these works of art 'genius' and its no wonder every Tom Dick and Harry wants to paint a self portrait ****ed on LSD or eccies or something.

Agent Undercover: I've seen too many sad cases turn to xtc for a quick dose of happiness and **** themselves up, and come out the end of their honeymoon more ****ed than when they went in... Not only that, they come out so weak that when they do get into trouble they have no ****ing clue what to do cos they've been pussified.

Booze is no better than drugs. In my paradise both would be shunned on and illegal in venues and gigs. It isn't one or the other thats worse, its the fact that so much BAD music has been made in the culture that have HAD to alter their mind to enjoy it. Its so disposable and ****ing **** now, people NEED to be on something to like it and thats just insulting to the REAL creative talents out there who can make something WITH OUT the influence of drugs and make it well enough to make people want to dance with out them being drunk or on drugs.

Make better music, and less people will need drugs to enjoy their night out. Not only that, why do people HAVE to stay out all night? Theres no law that says you HAVE to stay to the end of a club gig or rave. Anyone who says "Oh but I take it to stay awake" well, whats wrong with sleeping? People make this **** their life and thus end up ****ed on drugs and ****, thinking they're leading such a glamorous lifestyle that they then have a ****ing sook over and get suicidal and **** about when the honeymoon ends, because they make it their life. You don't have to go clubbing to have a good time. You don't HAVE to get **** faced. You don't HAVE to go every night to see your club buddies. You don't HAVE to be on guest lists, you don't HAVE to be the hottest girl in there, you don't HAVE to be the Dj, you don't HAVE to promote, you don't HAVE to take drugs or get drunk. .. People make their own choices and if you choose to get ****ed on drugs its because there was always something lacking the whole time that your concious couldn't complete, thus a temporary fix had to be made available.

Its a total non starter for me and always has been. Yes the idea appealed to me at some points in time and yes I dabbled in a few bits ages ago and I have heard all of the above before.

I did not say ALL people who use the stuff are whatever. My gripe comes with that when I am on it and enjoying myself I get A LOT of people approaching me for the stuff and it pi$$es me off. Trust me I've had many great nights out where the music and atmosphere is top notch and Iv'e got by without any of that stuff, most of my mates are the same and they have been in the club and music industry for years.

Anything that messes with your mind to that degree just aint good. Period.

On the booze cretins thing its people that are irritants and not what they have taken be it booze or pills.

Peace;) Soz auditors in yesterday, very stresfful day, went off on one a bit there no offence intended.

er....yeah...

right.....(looks to ceiling and whistles). mental.

But are they really worse than Alcohol or smoking?

Everything that is fun is bad for your health! Alcohol and smoking are bad for your health but I bet the anti-drug preachers do both of them.

Eating fry-ups and Macdonalds is bad for your health but billions of people indulge in that!

The only difference is some are legal and taxed and some are not.

What's worse:

Someone goes out on a p1ssup night out, drinks 15 drinks, smokes 20 fags, kebab on the way home

OR

Someone goes to a club, does 2 pills, couple of alcoholic drinks then water all night, dancing for the majority of the time then home to sleep.

I'd guarantee you'd feel a lot worse and do a lot more damage on the drinking night!

.... Pill poppers envy me cos I can do it clean ;)

But yeah. You will think I'm mental, as will alot of the others but, I'm not out to impress any of you with any sense of heightened intelligence and bull**** like that so, I don't care. :)

Have you noticed everyone is all like "Oh but I need to lose myself sometimes to escape the pressures of the week" .... Cos they're so unhappy right? Yet half of those pressures are ones they've brought upon themselves that they can change with a bit of initiative.

This whole, thing. The verry essense of this thread, it all comes down to personal fulfilment. One man needs more business fulfilment, he creates M.O.S. His patrons need more emotional fulfillment, they take drugs to enjoy his business endeavours.

Everyone fulfils their own necessitites. It's just a matter of finding the best way to do it. Sometimes the best way is the least logical way.

Not true! I do that all the time
(But I'm lucky because I only get hangovers once every few months...)

Cool8)

I did wade in a bit and came across to a few people like I was using numpty math. All drug users are plonkers + you take drugs=you are plonkers.

I'm sure you'll agree that is the formula to the mother of all assumptions which is never a good block to sprint out of...Something we all do at times.

It just genuinely drive me nuts when I get approached 10-20 times for the stuff.

My dislike of the drug thing is born out of several negative experiences and backed by magical memories of clubbing in Ibiza and over here whilst being relatively straight laced.

Philly is right about the K being around before minimal.

Used to get pills back round 92 full of them.

Ok if you are sitting indoors having a gathering and a puff but not if you were out.

My brother and his mob love it but they are smokers. They love to sit there off their rockers watching Blaxploitation or Shaolin movies and listening to rap. Took em to a clun they would plop in a corner out the way or spend the evening in the smoking room drinking tea.

Its been about since before that in gay clubs. My point was that the abundance of it helped make minimal. IMo off course

Anyways as you where

Would you agree those great atmospheres you experienced in Ibiza were created by crowds, of whom I'd bet, 90% were out of their minds on drugs?

:lol::lol::lol:

Sorry I'm with senor Hicks on this one...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J10w3FuCwfQ

Cant see Youtube at work but these are 2 of my Fav Bill Hicks quotes about the subject.

"If you don't believe drugs have done good things for us, then go home and burn all your records, all your tapes, and all your CDs because every one of those artists who have made brilliant music and enhanced your lives? RrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrEAL f**king high on drugs. The Beatles were so ****ing high they let Ringo sing a few songs."

And

"No, I don't do drugs anymore, either. But I'll tell you something about drugs. I used to do drugs, but I'll tell you something honestly about drugs, honestly, and I know it's not a very popular idea, you don't hear it very often anymore, but it is the truth: I had a great time doing drugs. Sorry. Never murdered anyone, never robbed anyone, never raped anyone, never beat anyone, never lost a job, a car, a house, a wife or kids, laughed my ass off, and went about my day."

I can't really speak for other people in those instances only myself and my own experience. I can get right into the music and have a blinder with just a few drinks. Yes drugs do enhance the experience for some people. That cannot be denied.

My take on clubland was maybe a bit different to most. I never really got into the music until my 20's. I fell in love with dance music and the whole dance scene. I wanted to go out at every opportunity, DJ, read about music, write it...the lot. I went full on because I got hooked on the music that much.

I had house tunes I'd done played in Ibiza, had a stints on breakfast and drivetime FM radio. (commercial).. I couldn't get enough. I then paused to start a family and am now toying with the idea of learning to play an instrument. I understand the drug culture within music as music and drugs are an inextricably linked pair for a lot of people that got involved in the scene in there teens. Maybe I got lucky in that I discovered music quite late on and I was also given a stern lecture from seasoned clubbers in the mid 90's that if I can go out and enjoy myself without drugs then keep it that way....and I did.

How many pills had you popped on your profile picture :) Go on, admit it

That's the puppy.

+1 for the Bill Hicks quotes.

Hicks had just about the right idea on every topic he spoke about... And his message was always the same; screw the media, screw the government - go out, live, love, think for yourself and enjoy whatever time you're given. It's not about how long you live, it about how much you enjoyed living.

Have you actually tried pills? However much fun you think you're having while not on them, I can guarantee anyone who is on them is having 100* that time. Simple chemistry.

I have indeed tried pills and it's not for everyone. I didn't like it. I don't like the feeling of losing control of my surroundings because I'm a control freak. I like to know exactly whats going on and where at all times. I like to know exactly what to do in any situation, I'm always prepared and ****.

Don't get me wrong, the amount of times that people have a good time and don't get addicted and try something new and end up fine if they're open to it. If people take drugs RESPECTABLY, then, thats their call and personally I think its just a poor reference to the party in question but, I've always been the guy who has to clean up the mess after everyone else has had 'a messy one'. Know what I mean? That disregard for the people around is so, ****ed up. I can't put myself there. I tried it, didn't like it.

I don't want someone else cleaning my vomit because I had to go and get ****ed up so that I could have a good time, and I'd appreciate it they didn't expect me to clean theres just so THEY can have a good time, but thats the reality of the scenario. People expect everyone to understand, but for the 'designated drivers' all you see is the spew, and the ****ed up ness, and you have to deal with the come down on Tuesday even tho every dumb **** will say "Oh I don't come down, I don't come down, I'M NOT HAVING A ****ING COME DOWN OK!!!"

It's just, the excuses people make for justifying their drug use. If someone says to me "Look I wanna take drugs, because I like them and I was wondering if you could be my care taker for the night", then I'd say fine, and I'd go out there knowing full well my job there isn't for myself to have fun but to take care of a mate so that he/she can, and then in return, somewhere in the future I might say "man, can you do this thing for me so I can enjoy this night out" and they'll do it for me, might be, being my ride in/out, doing another gig for me on the same night so I can go out, even maybe them making other plans to be out of the house or something so I can take a girl home. But if people say "I go out cos I love the music, but I need the drugs to enjoy it" .. Thats ****ed up. When they say "I need it to stay awake" thats ****ed up, because they don't HAVE to like the music, or pretend to, and they don't HAVE to stay up all night, they're just trying to make ane excuse for getting **** faced so they don't look like they have a drug habbit.

People can enjoy what ever they want. Just be open and honest about it and accept it for what it is instead of using it as a reason to be socially accepted.

Drug dealers sell there **** on the basis of "it'll make the music and experience better".
To combat this, artists need to make better music, promoters need to throw better gigs.

I think I'd much rather throw a better gig and sell it on the merrit of it's talent than have **** music and sell an, adaptor to make to experience better on the door, how ever, if you have something **** that you need to make good quick, then the 'adaptor' (Drugs) is the quick solution, thus, sometimes the most logical solution isn't always the best.
