Is it the end for Playa Den Bossa?

Is Dirk still on his crusade against PDB? I will say I've swithered between the places in the past, but am now pretty much a PDB convert. Don't think I'd stay in San An again now.

Ive been 8 times in the last 10 years staying in San An an San An Bay the first 6 times then Playa Den Bossa last two years. After staying in Playa Den Bossa I can honestly say ill never stay in San Antonio again. San Antonio seems full of kids there to get pissed and go to **** nights like " Club land and Garlands ". I like to visit San Antonio for 1 night while im away for the sunset at mambo and a meal but that's about it. Everything that is good about Ibiza is on your doorstep in PDB . Space, Ushuaia, Dc10, Ibiza Town, Bora Bora, a clean beach( something San An cant say) , the airport :). All that and the fact its not full of idiots on the kickoff like San makes it a better place to stay. Dirk you chat utter rubbish mate . If you like San An go and stay there then because muppets like yourself are the reason I stay in PDB. You sound like a little kid having an answer for everyones opinions. Im gonna give you a couple of facts now not opinions. 1 - Your a helmet! , 2 PDB is well better than that ****hole they call San An.................... Hope that helps you blurt

I can't see how people are angry over resort choice :/
my reasons for staying in San An Bay once and PdB 13 times are:

Pdb has a massive beach which has a lot to offer - several beach parties or the quieter end near the watch tower
It's right by the airport so not match travelling to the hotel and back.
It's close to Ibiza town
It's closer to the clubs and bars I attend

San Antonio seems about 20 times cheaper than PDB this year, thus being the clear winner for me! Never been to San Antonio during peak-season but if you go at a slightly quieter time it seens nice if you choose the right accomodation. Not stayed in PDB for years but it was hardly some posh, upmarket resort when I was there. Some folk talk about the two resorts like they're night & day. I'm no expert on Ibiza but I think this seems a bit of an exaggeration, as to most non-clubbers, both resorts would be classified as places to avoid!

Can i like both..

I've come to like both also. last year i split my trip into 5 days in pdb and a couple nights in san an. was good.

I avoid the west-end, but i just love having the sunset outside my door, and still, when Im in san an I always leave for clubs out of San An.

I tend to stay in PDB or near Ibiza town more... I love Dalt Vila and hanging out there, so it tends to be more convenient for me.

The cost is a lot more expensive at pdb but for me personally I save more than the difference on taxis that I would need if I stayed elsewhere. I think the resorts are very different but like you say Pdb is definitely not posh! The very small area around Ushuiaia maybe (smells great!). San an probably has more which is aesthetically pleasing. I think both resorts are ok for non clubbers unless you are a non clubber who despises the clubbing scene :)

I've had many a stay in San An and many a stay in PDB and never saw any reason with both why I wouldn't want to go again. These days of older age I prefer the tranquillity of talamanca and "the not to far away if you want it" route. Plus its a short walk to the marina where one's boat is moored..:lol::lol:

Couldnt agree more. As a solo traveler this year I am struggling to find a gaff in PDB that is both reasonable and well rated. San An on the other hand.......

PDB is even worse these days. Full of the pseudo rich who don't know how to enjoy themselves. Also far too edgy for my liking and far too many arrogant people. Give me the real people in San An anyday.

PDB for me every time these days after first staying there last year. Staying in San An just wouldn't make sense, I'd spend far too much time travelling across to Space, Sankeys, DC10, Bora Bora, maybe Pacha & Ushuaia.

I like San An for what it is and won't go to Ibiza without at least one trip across to visit the Sunset Strip and some of the better bars & restaurants, but for me PDB is where it's all happening.

Theres no right or wrong and a holiday in Ibiza is what you make it....

...but PDB is better

couldnt agree more with what jacks is saying... however... where are all these great restaurants everyone is talking about in san an?

im not being funny. I would just quite like to know.

i know pdb isnt exactly gastronomic heaven, actually, its far from it, but if you are staying in pdb, its so easy to get into ibiza town, where there are so many beautiful places to have food, so many that there is too much to choose from.

would love to know the best spots to go, as I am clearly missing out on something.

davids was good last year, as was curry club. but pizza and curry... you can have that anywhere.

What I meant by 'bars & restaurants' is 'bars'. Generally speaking, I only tend to eat in Ibiza out of necessity rather than searching high and low for good food. Perfectly happy to eat at Mambo's, very average food but there aren't many better spots for an evening in Ibiza.

Oh yes, mambos is good too.
Only go out once or twice for a nice meal. I remember being super embarassed when I took a load of ibiza virgins to villa mercedes... had heard good things, but it was terrible.

anyway... will stop hijacking the thread now...

still like both places PDB and San An... one of my faves to stay in is San Rafael.... super chilled out, ok not near the beach, but we were in between san an and pdb, so happy days.

Sa Capella
Kasbah
Tapas
Pikes
Villa Mercedes
Kama Sushi
Ritas Cantina
